A Quick Overview news

Tier 3 is a designated prequel to Portal. You step into the shoes of
Kat, a young woman who is part of an elite group of test subjects that
GLaDOS chose herself to test the early models of the Aperture Science
Handheld Portal Device. Kat has risen above and beyond the others and is
now testing what she and GLaDOS both believe to be the final beta model
of the portal gun. But Kat has a secret- on one of her expeditions
around the Enrichment Center, she got out of GLaDOS's sight and found a
window revealing the world outside. Having been in the Enrichment Center
for as long as she can remember, she becomes enchanted by the idea of
exploring the outside. However, GLaDOS refuses to respond to Kat's
inquiries. Now Kat plans to confront her mentor and guardian in person
to request her release...

The story will be rich in plot, and there will be numerous Easter Eggs
within the mod... As well as outside of it. Innovators in Science have
far more story than they can directly fit within the game, so they have
an array of Easter Eggs as well as an ARG planned. They also all have
many non-storyline related Easter Eggs planned.

New characters will be introduced throughout the gameplay, and the history of at least one old character will be revealed...

Each and all of the characters will have a voice actor, new and old. No
text to speech voices either, so Wheatley(Harry101) and
GLaDOS(GLaDOSv3.11) will both sound more realistic than in other mods.

Tier 3 will also have a custom soundtrack, not one piece of music will be from the original game.

-What type of game is Tier 3?

Tier 3 will be released in episodes, most likely 6 but that may be
changed in the future. It will be a Portal and Portal 2 crossover mod,
the beginning will be Portal 1 themed, and further in Portal 2 elements
will be introduced in a way that would be rich with spoilers if it were
explained. Therefore, it will not be explained.

It will be storyline driven, but the puzzles will not suffer for it. The
goal is too keep the game's atmosphere like the one in Portal,
retaining the sense of claustrophobia and underlying horror themes while
still being new and interesting.

Some of the goals of Tier 3

• To present a new kind of environment and utilize the Portal 2
equipment while still having the claustrophobic sense of horror from the
original Portal.

• To introduce new characters that fit into the wacky world of Aperture and build on some of the old characters.

• To have the perfect storyline for a Puzzle game such as Portal-
something that keeps the player motivated to get to the next levels and
finish the game while still being well placed enough that it does not
retract from actual puzzle solving.

• To be immersed in a new kind of relationship among not only the player and GLaDOS, but Kat as well.

In summary, we want to make a prequel worthy of Portal.
