To celebrate our 300 followers we decided to present you a small summary of our work so far.

Guys, 8 months ago we started this project with almost nothing - a mess of files, ocean of ideas, absolutely no skills in moding and a lot of enthusiasm.8 months later we have learned a lot and done a lot :)
I'd like to make a little summary of our progress so far. I hope you will like it :)

1) We have finished almost all (about 90%) of the Phase 1 Clone troopers

We have:

- Regular Clone Troopers with blasters, rifles and backpacks

- Senior Clone Troopers - for example the Major and the Commander (You can notice the Sergeant in the previous picture)
- Major

- Commander

Special clone troopers like:
- Clones with rocket launchers

- With Z6

- Snipers

- Medics

- Engineers

- Heavy vehicle drivers

- Pilots (maybe won't be used)

- Gunners

- And some of the most famous and liked units like:
- The famous 501st Legion

501st reporting for duty

- Or the 212th Attack Battalion

Of course not all battlefields are beautiful and warm city gardens, so the clones need special equipment like:
- Cold Armor

Cold Troopers

-Desert Armor

Desert troopers

- or Swamp armor

- Or some special gear like the Nightvision visors

- And the Jetpacks

Finally landing in the mod

Of course more things are comming :)
Our focus now is on finishing the Phase 1 units

But how can you win a battle without proper coordination and logistic?
For that we have the Forward Command Center

And to support the infantry we have
- BARC speeders

- Infantry support platforms

WIP ISP

- AT-RT

- TX-130

- AT-TE

And for air support and fast deployment:
- LAAT/i for infantry

- LAAT/v for small vehicles

And LAAT/c for the heavy ones

We also have a lot of Phase 2 Clone troopers which we will show soon :)

And finally a important part: the credits

Thank you, guys!
I really want to keep the pilots, but can anyone suggest any logical use of them?
I had an idea of them, leaving a crashed LAAT or land fighter, like the ARF after the AT-RT's death, but it's just an idea and until it's not done I can't be sure if it will make it to the final version.
So, as usual, we are open to suggestions :)

How about when an air vehicle is destroyed the pilot is "ejected" from the destroyed craft and you send the pilot to any vehicle you pick and said vehicle will gain some bonuses.

Actually that is possible. Look at other mods which have the Scout trooper piloting a speeder; when the speeder is destroyed, the Scout trooper remains alive and on foot.

Thus if an ARC-170 were to be in this mod as an aerial combat vehicle and such were destroyed, you could use the same code for the speeder as for the Arc-170, and thus the Clone pilot would be alive on the ground, and ready to fight. The same goes for the LAATs.

Now if you were to give the Clone pilot the "Capture Vehicle" ability that Chewbacca has, and grant him a "All vehicles get a 10% increase in damage and vitality" bonus similar to abilities of a field commander, you would have the perfect Clone Pilot.

You could even do a variation where the Clone Pilot could place a time or sticky bomb, or even change weapons from blaster pistol to blaster carbine.

I know the scout trooper possibility, we already have that implementated for almost all republic ground vehicles. But it doesn't make much sense of shooting an airplane and just spawn the pilot on the ground magically. That's bothering me and that I meaned in my comment. My bad, I was in a hurry.
And the Clone Driver and Pilot is already planned with "Capture Vehicle" ability, check the previous news :)

I agree, the spawn would be a little ugly for the pilot. Unless you had a crash animation for the gunship.

On that note will you have persist wreckage/battlefield casualties?

I wish that too, but I'm not sure if that won't cause huge lag. But I really like it as an idea, it make the battle more realistic. So actually I can answer you after we make some game tests and that won't be soon :(

I wonder why air vehicles can't just crash into the ground when destroyed in the game. I mean seriously, aircraft don't just spontaneously combust in midair after taking enough hits...

That wreckage has to go somewhere. Just as well, the pilot could survive (however slim that chance) by either ejecting or crash landing.

I don't know how much fps it would take from the game and time it would take to make the animations and models for destroyed air units though... I'm no modder so I couldn't say.

Yeah, we are planning to make death clones to the land air units. And that was my idea of the pilot, leaving the wreckage. But maybe it won't be very realistic, as unfortunaly not all pilots always manage to save themselfs before the crash. But we will try it :)

Not sure if you are still looking for suggestions for clone pilots, but I don't think you should use the model of the clone pilot but maybe have a clone pilot minor hero and if he is in a fleet he gives a bonus to bombers in bombing runs (more health, faster, bombs are more damaging, more bombs are dropped, etc)

Looks great, how did you get the meshes from lucasarts! Or did they come with empires at war mod (never played it)

Most of the meshes are from other games. I personally have extracted models from SW Battlefront I and II and frOst47 have extracted the models from CW Adventures

Is that legal? Isnt that effectively reverse engineering or are these models freely available. Either way it still looks good and has the added benifit of giving me a modelling subject for teaching myself modelling in blender, on the starwars.com site they have loads of concept art used for the clone wars series and i'm trying to use the character reference sheets to recreate a clone trooper.

Well, actually yes, because LA claimed all SW content their property, including our mods :)
And even if you create the clone trooper it won't be yours, legally speaking. So we technically it's legal to take everything :)

Of course that's because we aren't making any profit of our work. In the opposite case, I think they will reconsider that policy :D

I have a suggestion make a story mode all the way from geonosis to order 66(even battles from tthe clone wars 2008 series)and let ground transports dock with capital ships(ship blows transports escape)like entering the main hangar

We are going to make a campain, but at later versions of the mod.
We have planned some capital ships to have animated hangars. But transports docking with capitals won't have much point

If you ask if they will reveal more FOW than the other units without NV, well, yes, as the idea of the devices is to expand your view in difficult environment :)

I haven't been this buzzed about a mod for a while :D amazing work! credit to you and your team keep it up! I have two questions thought. would it be possible to make the infantry fire while they move? just less accurate or less damage then if they where standing still? that would be so cool if you could actually assault positions instead of losing half your men getting to a position before they can fire. my other question is would it be possible at all to make garrisonable cover? like they did in halo wars? you could have a blow up ATTE and make clones hide behind it and shoot? that would be pretty cool, but I don't even no if that is possible. anyway looking forward to seeing the next update XD

Well, about the firs, we have the same idea and we are trying to make it work correct :)
About the second, because of the game specs, it's not possible, but we can go over that and we can make the death clones solid objects. So if you move your troops behind manually they will take cover :)

Brilliant this Mod is going to be the next big thing at this rate! I see , that would be good it would just make the game play so much more exciting and tactical, keep it up :)
