2/6/19 Update: T.rex dental work + Raptor Improvements news

Hello everyone! Before I proceed to the updates, I'd like to take a minute to thank everyone for their support, feedback and enthusiasm; the mod was able to break into the top 100 mods on the site which is a pretty impressive feat!

T.rex Teeth

While I was glossing over things in game I realized just how ugly the alpha channel teeth would look on the more detailed and smooth models that are being worked on. As a proof on concept I modeled some teeth onto the rex's top jaw. Here's how it came out:

I think it came out really good and with some refinment will go a long way to improving the model quality. I was also thinking of modeling and perhaps animating a tongue. When the rex roars in the movies the tongue usually moves too and it's a small detail that could bring a nice touch to the mod. I'm not sure if every dinosaur will get teeth like this (perhaps just the ones large enough to take notice of), but I sure do like the look of it.

Raptor Update

As I said in the previous post the raptor was getting a significant makeover as far as it's model and posture. The JPOG raptor is probably one of the least accurate dinosaurs to the JP movies being more closely modeled after a real life raptor. The model was alright for the most part (except for a particular body part that we'll cover in a minute), but the posture was horrendous. After extension edits to its animations this was the result:

I'm quite happy with this result and in game it looks quite impressive. However, now that the raptor is 2 meters tall its mitten hands become an eyesore. They will be addressed as it looks quite silly. On a similar note, the dilopho and galli also have this issue so I will add actual hands to them as well. One last thing I have to showcase for the raptor is the run cycle (I would have included the walk cycle too, but I must have edited it by accident and need to redo it):

For some general house cleaning I'm going to create an actual logo for the mod (no more stock JPOG logo :P ) and I will also update the old FCM: HD Facebook page so that I can spread the word to the people who were following that incarnation mod there. Stay tuned for more updates!
