It’s That Time Again!

Yep, that’s right. It’s that time again for another Shores Of Glory Media update. First, if you haven’t already noticed our status on Modification Database (www.moddb.com) has been bumped from a link to a full fledge modification. We ask that you continue to support our website by voting for us daily (voting is easy, simply click the modification database link on the left hand side of the screen).

Some of you might have also noticed that we have a new website design. All the sections are up and running. Please be aware that not all the sections are 100 percent complete as of yet. If you don’t like this design, please feel free to revert it at will. I’ve discussed in previous news post on how to accomplish this.

As the season changes, so does the amount of time that is spent on Shores Of Glory. Although we have experienced some shortcomings in the past, it doesn't mean that we are not currently working. Because we have lost some development team members to school and the real world we would like to take this opportunity to reach out to the community for help. We are in need of the following:

Animator:
Experience in rigging and animation techniques. Working knowledge of 3D Studio Max is a plus.

Modeler:
Experience in any 3D modeling program. Working knowledge of how to unwrap and map your models.

Texture Artist:
Experience in any 2D editing software. Must be able to create realistic textures for weapons, props and/or environments.

If you are interested in joining our modification team please send your resume to join@shoresofglory.org.

Let’s now take a look at what we have been working on behind the scenes. Maps and static props will be the main focus on this release. We have been porting our Day Of Defeat Source material over to Half-Life 2. In doing so we have new screenshots of two works in progress. Manila was the first map ported to the new Half-Life 2 game engine for Shores Of Glory and it’s creator, Blizzard, has continued to work wonders. The first set of screenshots showcases Manila and all of its new texture and brushwork. Another map currently being ported is cheese-sarnie's, Tarawa. This map also displays new textures and brushwork. Tarawa also shows several of our new static prop models by 3D modeler Furri, including the Japanese Ha-Go tank, the Japanese Howitzer and the re-textured Zero. All of these models are displayed in the next set of screenshots. Player models, weapons and more props are currently being worked on and will be featured in a future news post.
