German-made Erma EMP 35 ? That would be amazing! These rather rare weapons were used to equip non-priority units in Germany for the allocation of statutory weapons (MP 38 or MP 40).
Rather Spanish-made (under licence), in 9mm Para and in the "exotical" (in France !) 9mm Largo. These weapons were seized from the defeated Spanish Republican troops, forced to take refuge in France at the end of 1939.
By lack of the MAS 38 SMGs, such weapons were reused in 1940 by the SES ("sections d'éclaireurs-skieurs" or ski scouts platoons) of the Légion & Chasseurs Alpins in Norway, and by the Corps-Francs (free corps) belonging to the Fortress Infantry, in Maginot Line, for patrols & operations in the "no mans'land".
Cheers.

Description

Again the use of allied weapons in the hands of the Vichy militia troops: it is possible to see the French-made Mas-38 submachine gun (left), the German-made Erma EMP (center) and finally the British Sten (right).
