The weapons present in France (whether French or British) were seized as early as 1940 by the German Army, especially in the Northern Zone (Occupied zone), where the BEF had been engaged (like Dunkirk, for example).
If the "Milice" used the Armistice Army's weapons stockpiles, located in the South Zone (Free zone), it was not there that they would have found Lee-Enfields. Rather in captured parachuted Allied containers, where the particular .303 British ammunition was widely supplied.
Cheers.
