When archaeologists Robert Wayneright and Ezekiel Fletcher find a rather mundane artifact in a lost tomb, they think they've found nothing more than an interesting museum display. However, strange occurrences plague them on their trip back to the Commonwealth, and they eventually find themselves stopping to rest in a castle re-purposed as a hotel for the rich and influential. They decide to stay in the titanic fortress and research this strange memento of the past, while also taking time to separate themselves from their busy lives and relax. The mysterious happenings that followed them from the dark tomb subside, and they forget the artifact in the light of their newly blossoming relationship. However, a harsh and surreal reality quickly thrusts itself between them when Robert awakens one stormy morning, drunk from a blissful night and unaware of what lay under the rainbow.
