"Warring States - Rise of Qin" is a modification to "Rome Total War: Barbarian Invasion" made by Chinese modders. The historical background is in the Warring States period of China, starting in the year 356 BCE in the year of the famous Qin reform (Shang Yang Reform) which transformed the state of Qin into a prominent power in ancient China. As a result of those reforms, the state of Qin quickly caught up and eventually surpassed the might of the other Warring States, allowing for the eventual unification of ancient China under the Qin ruler Ying Zheng, also known as Qin Shi Huang, the Imperial First Emperor of China.
