War of the Tribes

War of the Tribes is a campaign released in 1999 at Starcraft Legacy, essentially, a continuation of the Starcraft: Brood War storyline, meant to be an introduction to the fourth race prophesized in the end of Brood Wars. The mod was designed by Gabriel Sorrel and it was the first to have its own movie, made by Joel Steudler. While War of the Tribes itself was completed, a sequel was never produced to end its tale. I merely want to preserve the file with respect to the creator because old links usually don't work.

Description

Installation instructions: Broodwar is necessary for the mod to work, patched to 1.10 (probably works with all versions, tested with 1.07). Create a “WotT” folder inside the “maps” folder of Starcraft, then unzip the “War of the Tribes” file (all 22 .scx files inside the .zip) in the "WotT" folder and the WotT.exe in the main directory of the game along with the WotTmovie.exe. Start the game by loading the WotT.exe, select Brood War, choose a profile, then "custom game" and go to the WotT folder. Start with the intro, making sure the "use map settings" option is checked.
