A Fatal Error. Thread - Uplink OS mod for Uplink - Trust is a Weakness

Greetings. I doubt that this mod is still receiving support, but here goes.
Whenever I attempt to run the mod, the game always fails to launch, and I constantly get this error message:

Could not create Display! Reverting to safe mode.

Could not create the Safe Display! Exiting application

A fatal error has occurred in Uplink!

Also, I am currently using the Lenovo Thinkvision L2250p monitor, which has a resolution of up to 1680x1050, Intel HD 520 integrated graphics, 4GB of RAM, and Windows 10 x64 architecture. Is there something lacking in my hardware? Or is there something wrong software-wise? Any help, or attempts at it, would be much appreciated, please and thanks.
