I should have done this much earlier as well, but for v0.0.4 there will be new/appropriate explosions for most ships, overall it is quite easy. A bunch of the earlier conversions I made we're done by using a HW2 .hod & adding in my changes, unknown to me at the time was that the markers count as reference areas for enemy ships to fire at, which is the reason that enemy ships shoot at ships in the wrong locations, sometimes where there is no hull to hit like on the scaffold.
