What exact things does this mod change in the files?
Because I don't want corpses disappearing,
but this mod isn't compatible with another mod I'm using.
Could you tell us how to make the tweak manually ourselves?

If you have "7zip" you can edit the "pack0004.pk4" file, found in the "base" folder of your "Doom 3" game directory to get a "nogibbing" effect and have it work with other mods.

First off, right click on "pack0004.pk4" and highlight "7zip". A tab on the right should open with an option "Open Archive". Click "Open Archive". You will see a new tab open up with a list of folders. Look for the "def" folder (should be at the very top). Right click on "def" folder and choose the "View" option. You will now be in a new tab where you can view & edit multiple def files. Scroll down till you see the "weapon def" files (they are at the very bottom of this tab you're in). Right click on any one of the weapon def files (exmaple: "weapon_shotgun.def") and choose the "View" option. Another tab will open. In this new tab you can edit the Gib effect to be a No-Gib effect. There's a lot of gibberish text, so it's easy to get lost in these def files. Just scroll down slowly and pay close attention. When you spot "gib" "1", you have found the text you need to alter to get the No-Gibbing effect.

Change "gib" "1" to "gib" "0".

Leave the huge space between the "gib" and the "value" as is.

It should look like this;

"gib" "0"

Once you've done this simple edit, click on the "File" option in the upper left corner of the def file tab. Choose the "Save" option (do not click "Save As").

Now exit out of the weapon def tab.

A window will pop up asking if you would like to update the Archive. Click yes. You will see a loading bar progressing from left to right. Once it is finished, the loading bar window will disappear. It is now safe to exit the "pack0004.pk4" file".

In game, you will now have a "no gibbing" effect whenever you shoot a possessed AI or a Mars City Security Soldier AI with that weapon you edited the def file for (have not yet figured out how to get this working so that demons don't evaporate).

NOTE: in order to get this "no gibbing" effect working with each weapon, you will have to edit the "gib" "1" text line and change it to "gib" "0" for every single "weapon def" file.

Just follow the same process I described for every "weapon def" file.

NOTE2: in the "weapon def" files you will also find other text lines that can be altered [example: "Damage" "value", "ClipSize" "value", "LowAmmo" "value", etc]. The "value" text line is set to a default value for each weapon's different settings.

Example: for the "weapon_shotgun.def" file, the damage value by default is "40", I believe. The shotgun weapon def file also has text lines for bullet spread ("spread" "20") and one for recoil (can't remember what the text line is called for recoil without looking at the def file).

Feel free to increase or decrease the "value" numbers for these other text lines, if you want to make weapons weaker/stronger/have more ammo per clip or less ammo per clip, etc, etc.

Anyway, hope this helped. And I hope I explained it well and easy-to-understand.

Have a blessed day
