In the original Todesangst we learn about Dr. Jack Newell and his horrifyingly successful endeavors to merge Xen and human life. Freeman and Joe, a courageous member of the Black Mesa security force, hunt down Dr. Newell and eventually succeed in smashing his biological engineering plots. The scheming doctor ironically meets his doom via his own creation, the "molecular transmutator" transforming him into a vicious Xenantromorph. Ahh. . . Summer. So many more outside distractions than during the rest of the year! But despite the allure of ball games and cookouts, the mod continues to make great progress. Some noteable highlights during the past month:

-Another great month of mapping. I've posted three more screenshots on the site, including one illustrating the new 3rd person dialogue screen. Like in the original Todesangst, cutscenes will be displayed during key points in the plot. Now, the dialogue of the characters will be at the bottom of the screen. You will be able to choose between English and German subtitles.

-Voice acting is nearly finished.

-Another Xen creature enemy has been added.

-User controllable turrets have been coded. How this works is the player will control a fixed gun, but instead of firing bullets the gun projects a laser spot. The player moves the spot to a chosen target, then fires the two (or more) turrets nearby at the target! See the site status page for a screenshot which describes this better than words!
