This is the remake of They Hunger trilogy with new weapons and monster behaviors. The maps remain the same with the exception of new lighting and more defined shadows. There is also "Infection Rate" system which makes it harder to die when on low health, making the gameplay a lot more forgiving.

I'm currently experiencing a bug where the game crashes to the desktop whenever I click on the options menu.
That's from the 25th Anniversary Update for Half-Life. It happens in base game as well, but was fixed now I think
That would explain it. I restarted it and haven't experienced that anymore.
The drum tommy gun seems a little much for the 1950s, It'd be more likely to be one of the World War II era square magazine, But given that the US Army is utilizing UH-1 Huey Helicopters? I reckon They Hunger likely takes place at some point in the 1960s like Night of The Living Dead, It'd be more appropriate to have an M-14 or gen 1 M16 as the 9mmAR.
