This is a very unique project, and especially for essentially reworking the mod with new stuff, call it improvements, overhauls or remakes this seems to have many dazzling types of work being put into it.
That said, I do hope you don't plan on removing the cutscenes entirely. Those were very enjoyable parts of the game and were very unique for it's time in terms of being created in 1999 I think.
Still, I know there's more work needed to be done on this project going forward so I won't be overtly heavy on criticism. Especially since [fittingly] your going to be making this during Halloween which is a time to celebrate and eat candy.
Besides that I wish you good luck on this and in general, Happy Halloween!
