Now that you have X-Wing Alliance installed and patched to version 2.1, and have applied the font fix, It is time to move onto the fun part: Installing new Hi-Definition ships! First let's download Defiant's X-Wing Install system, which will allow you to add certain ships and files to your game without a click-team installation application: Darksaber.xwaupgrade.com
Next lets download Darksabers ultimate craft pack version 2.3, The largest and most useful craft pack to date! Darksaber.xwaupgrade.com The models in this pack are only to be used in the X-Wing Alliance game, and It should be known that Darksaber is very proud of his work, as he very well should be, and is a huge fan of the X-Wing Alliance community, however, he does not like it when other people steal his work and claim it as their own. :(
Darksabers models, as well as the models made by many XWAUP community members, have appeared on many mods on this site, including (but not limited to) a large portion of Empire at war and Forces of Corruption mods, as well as the new Freeworlds: Tides of War mod. Before using any of these models in any other games, make sure to get the authors permission. :)
Alright, back to modding! The installation should be pretty straightforward, simply select which options you would like, and set the ties to maximum resolution so that they will be really detailed in-game :D

I remember having to learn every little thing that I would need in order to play XWA with upgraded graphics, there is only a small guide on the PC gamer website, but that doesn't even mention X-Wing Alliance upgrade or several other things that make the game better. I am hoping to relieve some headaches caused by not knowing which programs you need, and in what order :) Thank you for the kind comment :D
