Description
Wasn't really satisfied with the old FAL. I'm reworking it and several other guns. I MIGHT switch out the scope on all the western weapons for an Elcan C79, haven't decided. Everyone uses the ACOG so I'd like something different.
And I know the normal Israeli FAL doesn't have a folding stock, short barrel, or 30 round mag. But, I figure its been in service long enough that there's probably a billion different combinations of FALs
ELCAN C79 would be a nice change.
The handguard isn't a FAL, but an FNC. Take a look at some pictures of the British L1A1 on imfdb and you'll see where the FNC has a rounded handguard--like a cylinder--the FAL has a rectangular/cubic handguard, like a brick or chocolate bar. Right now the gun looks like some horrible Frankenstein's monster.
Also, battle rifles are plenty powerful from a balance perspective without a large 30-rd mag, and it would be nice both from the balance and aesthetic (the magazine modeled is 20-rd) perspectives to have a 20-rd mag.
Actually, handguard is from an IMI Romat. Imfdb.org For a time the FAL was manufactured in Israel, this is one of those. However, I would also like a proper stock and 20 round magazine.
Ok, my bad, but I still maintain that it looks closer to an FNC handguard in shape than the Romat and that the L1A1 is just sexier. To each his own though.
The Isrealies actually produced their own models, they used the FNC hand guard on them. Youtube.com
You dont need to watch more than a few secs, but if you are a gun nut then you will enjoy him.
P.S. ADD A 20 ROUND MAG!! Please!
