Road to Limansk is a mod for Clear Sky aimed at improving all aspects of game play.
Another small change graphically, but its a pretty significant change for the game play.
I got tired of having these magical med kits that looked like doughnut boxes...or maybe a cake box, I dunno.
So I switched up the models and icons. Also, medkits don't instant heal anymore. They place a bunch of different medications in your inventory for use later. Of coarse, that ruins the 2 crappy hud quiskslots that come with CS, so I'm going to port in tzc's hud script so they hud will have 4 slots and have the new medications in them.
This isn't a new concept. Zone of Alienation did it already and I intended to use their scripts. But they wouldn't work in Clear Sky. SetaKat and Decane helped get it going though.
Great idea, it always seemed weird that you had magic boxes that just instantly healed you. Can you do anything about the crazy bleeding in CS? That's always one of the things that makes me hesitate playing through it again; it's just so easy to bleed out from glancing hits, especially in the beginning.
I don't know how I feel about having the medkits as just containers for other medications, one has to consider ease of use and simplicity in design, but that is just my two cents
You should think about adrenaline shots, but still those medkits are awesome and more realistic to the stalker series.
With these new medkits you couldnt heal in combat so quick as before ... so I suggest to make adrenaline shots aswell (like chiter2012 said) that heal you instantly, but in return the health gained from these shots will degenerate over time again (if this is possible) so you would have to use real medications after combat :)
sounds like a nice feature idea mate !
thanks m8 :)
Yes I like hose Med kits beautiful.
The models themselves came from turbosquid for free in case anyone was wondering.
The med kit setup is very limited at the game engine level. With the new quickslot there will be 4 options. You can't change them because they are at the script level, but I plan on putting in the meds that work quick.
The thing is about the main mod, healing/eating is already significantly different. I have scripts that cause healing over time, holstering of weapons, and added PPE effects when using these items. Which makes jabbing yourself in the leg for a quick boost for the very minimum amount of holster time attractive.
The main healing is meant to be done outside of combat, and once I get around to it reloading of magazines :)
Wow keep it up ;D !
