Tedrich was not a remarkable boy. In fact by most standards he was rather underwhelming. The only thing that made him truly unique was the horrible dreams that plagued him night after night. Every time he shut his eyes he was faced with the most terrifying events one can imagine. But what makes Tedrich's case particularly interesting is that he could not simply wake up from his nightmares. The only way to escape was to fight his way towards the deepest darkest part of his subconscious and defeat the terrors that make him fear the night.
Tedrich's parents don't believe his outlandish tales about monsters under his bed and in his closet. They also don't care much for his purple hair. They even tried dyeing it black, but it wouldn't take and returned to is livid purple state immediately.
