It all runs off the launcher because i don't know any other way possible. and i don't have SteamWorks SDK.

Well the thing at the bottom only shows properly in window mode, it does in fullscreen but its kinda "flasging" effect. That cant be helped im afraid. BUT you still get the achievment, and you can still hear the sound, its just the achievment doesnt show right away!

its okay if it runs on windowed mode. i often run mods on windowed mode. (many people seems to hate it a lot, but its actualy pretty usefull expecialy when you crash and you need to return to windows in game).
oh yeah i forgot, mabye you said it already to many persons and into your forum, and im sorry to ask this again (im starting to get curious like a damn cat, so sue me :S)
will you unblock some bonuses by completing the achivments? (like secret guns or...)
Well the latest version has a fix for full screen :)
This is old now, but yeah achievements will unlock different things in the game!
