This mod will start were the original Half Life2 episode 2 ended, with the death of Alyx her father. She became sick by the loss and layes in bed. Magnusson needs Gordon to look for Kleiner, because he has disapeared. The last time he did see Kleiner was when he spoke about going to the Borealis to blow the ship and everything inside up. Gordon needs to travel by airplane to the North pole and find Kleiner, and save the ship. Will you be on time? And will you find out what the secret cargo is that is inside the ship?

H A L F L I F E 2, E P I S O D E 3 version 3.0 4 May 2023 The original version 1.0 was released in Feb. 2016, version 2.0 released on May 1 2016 and this version 3.0 is released on 4 May 2023. I decided to release this 3rd version because as so many other Valve/Source updates did the latest source update also cause huge problems with this mod. Mainly with the pathfinding of the enemies which made them not attack anymore in some cases.

Nice to see that you still care about this, despite the mixed reception it got overall.
I am looking into compiling all my Source mods again, with the latest Hammer engine version. Because over time my early mods especially, but even my later ones do not seem to work properly anymore due to Source updates. So it is best to get them all up to date. Would love to rebuild things in the mod because looking back on things I see that I did a lot of things wrong or could just have been done better. But that is just impossible to do. I have moved on from Source and have been working for years now with other games and engines. But, to get them updated, is something that I love to do. Especially because they are still downloaded a lot of times daily.

Hi leon, I installed the download into source mods but it isn't showing up in my Library (or hidden games). I wondered if I should have installed one of the sub-folders instead to source mods, but if so, which one....hmm....any ideas ?
After extracting Halflife2-Episode3.rar into your Sourcemods folder you should have a folder in Sourcemods called Halflife2-Episode3. And when you open that folder you should see all kinds of folders and files. When you use 7zip it can happen that it extracts a second folder called Halflife2-Episode3. So you have;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\Halflife2-Episode3\Halflife2-Episode3
but that is wrong. It should look like this;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\Halflife2-Episode3
Then you need to close Steam when you have it already running that is. Once you open Steam again it should be in your Library. And, don't forget to set your Source SDK 2013 to upcoming! Very important, otherwise the mod (and most other mods for that matter) will not work.

Hmm, can't find an Ep 3 folder anywhere in all those files.
I need to take another look at it all. Yes, I use 7 zip but none of the files have that name. Everything else you suggest is what I have done and always do...
Yes, a common problem with 7zip. I suggest you just use winrar from now on, it's free. But that is another discussion and ofcourse entirely up to you.
Please just make a folder in your Sourcemods folder and call it;
Halflife2-Episode3
Now place all folders and files that are in the 7zip in there. Open Steam, (and first close it if it was already open). And now you should see Halflife2-Episode3 in your Steam Library. Have fun, and please let me know if you still have trouble.
It really is easy, all you need is a Halflife2-Episode3 folder with the mods folders and files in it, like this;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\Halflife2-Episode3

Yeah, that worked, thanks....now to play it again and see what's changed...it'll actually be the 3rd time since it's first release.
Thanks, and glad that it worked. About the changes, the only thing that is changed is the behavior of the enemies. Because of updates on Source some enemies (mostly combines) didn't attack anymore. They just stand there. Now they react and attack again like I made them do in the release version. I thought about changing more things because god knows that quite a few things could be enhanced, made better, or even taken out completely. But, that would mean at least a few months of work again. And I just don't have time for that, am way too busy with my latest Ion Fury mod, called Ion Jungle.

Cheers, it's an epic adventure for sure and I'm a big fan of your HL work.I don't really play much else other than a few retro things, just for nostalgias sake, as it were.I struggle with some of the puzzles, or just get annoyed with myself for not seeing it...but hey, there's cheat codes when that happens.Thanks for your work, I really appreciate what you do....way over my head, lol, but then I'm a builder (constuction) and hats off to guys like you that make this kind of stuff, just the thing after a busy day at work... unwind.

Bug Report: After the encounter with Kleiner, it seem that the glow on the button is shut, and I cannot progress further.

This is really strange that that happens to you, and it should not do so! I just checked this part the other day just before I uploaded version 3.0 and it worked fine when I played it. Could you please upload the last saved file, it will bring you back a small part, which hopefully should solve it. I can't imagine what caused this error because I only compiled the levels again with the latest Source engine, and didn't make any changes whatsoever in any of the levels.

Hey Leon, nice to see you're still active in HL2 community. I really do hope that you will someday release similar updates for your older mods like Coastline to Atmosphere and Strider Mountain because god knows they need some fixing for engine-related issues.

Выбрасывает при загрузке первого уровня...Скачал патч для второй версии игра пошла,но когда появляется босс то начинает заикаться звук и выбрасывает на главную.Пробовал изменить видео и музыку на низкое качество,чтоб при боссе так сказать не выбросило,начинает тоже заикаться,виснет и выбрасывает на главную.Надо играть дойдя до босса просто нажать на следующий уровень.С этими глюками игра так себе на троечку
Вылетает при загрузке на картах типо в переходах,надо ставить версию 2.0 по верх этой

Начнем с проблем.Вылет при загрузке игры,нашол в интернете фикс.Потом вылет когда появляется какое-то чудище в конце главы.Начинает заикаться и вылет.Надо после каждой главы в конце начинать игру и выбирать следующую главу.В 22 главе заикается и вылетает Ошибка текстур.Жаль,так и несмог насладится полноценной игрой из за глюков моя оценка троечку автору мода
