Hi all,

You can go ahead and post bugs, comments on Terminus Machina, suggestions for improving Terminus Machina here.

Heya, No gamebreaking bugs from my first short playthrough, however, there are a few minor annoyances. Sometimes no audio plays when talking to certain people, which could be a bug or be because no audio files have been input yet. Also, When opening the game with the command again, your body can stay, unless it exploded via Predator Drone. The ambient music is very good, and I like how there is a constant feeling of being smashed into one area. Sometimes it isnt very clear what's an off limits wireless signal, and not off limits, however.

Conversation Audio: Yeah, there isn't audio for all of the lines, I'm still in the process of looking for voice actors and getting lines recorded, etc.

Wireless Signals: So maybe like, something that says the signal is an enemy signal? Maybe I can stick something into a conversation talking about the CyberSec wireless signals.

Mar 26 2013 Anchor

Something like that maybe, yeah. However on the other hand, now knowing where the wireless signals are can be a good thing too, as it adds to the oppression.

Hm, ok, good to know what seems to be working for players in the game. Thanks, keep up the good work!

I have encountered another bug in the gameplay, sometimes, when a searcher destroyer drone bombs you, and you are performing an action or hiding under a prop, or something like that, I am unsure what exactly causes it, the game can crash. I did also encounter another bug where blue text appeared on my screen saying I did not have a file. One more bug is that sometimes, the searcher destroyer comes instantly, and other times it does not. However, it is not a very buggy Alpha, as although these would be common for a finished mod, it looks quite nice now.

UN-common for a finished mod, typo there.

"when a searcher destroyer drone bombs you, and you are performing an action or hiding under a prop, or something like that, I am unsure what exactly causes it, the game can crash."

If you can send me your log file when this happens, that would be great. (the file is just called "DeusEx" and is a text file in DeusEx/System) I haven't seen it myself.

If you see that blue text again also, let me know what file it says is missing. Probably a missing package or some such.

The searcher destroyer coming instantly and sometimes not is I think programmed into the game so that it comes at a random time. The goal was to make it harder to game the system and make the drone come and hide behind since you know when it's coming. I might add a slight delay to the time though, possibly.

Oh, I was going to check. Has anyone done the mission Jezebel gives you yet? That's the eavesdropping one, it has the most potential for problems.

Sorry for not posting in a while, over Spring break I was unable to play Terminus Machina. Also, What is the ambient music when starting the mod, did you make it yourself?

Apr 7 2013 Anchor

Yes, the ambient music I created myself. You can get all the original music by me here.

The tracks that are not mine are the Pawn Shop song (Dead Kennedys - "Kill The Poor") and the Club Bikini track (Squarepusher - "Dark Steerling"). I'm planning to replace those tracks but am still looking for, or going to make music that fits those areas.

All testers: there's a new version of the mod available to download that includes new areas, some fixes, and more help with crafting and hacking.

You can get it from the same place you got the original download. Let me know if you need help.

I don't know if is the right section to ask this but does anyone know how to install the mod i've already saw the FAQ and tried everything but i still can't run the mod. I have the gog version of deus ex

Jun 15 2013 Anchor

I'm having a similar problem, actually, I've tried to install it, and the steam fix doesn't make a "Terminus.exe" Appear in my system folder, I do want to get it running though.

Jun 16 2013 Anchor

What exactly is happening? Is there an error message? Are you clicking "TerminusMachina" the shortcut in DeusEx/System?

Jun 16 2013 Anchor

yes i click the shortcut and it says the selected path doesn't exist

Jun 16 2013 Anchor

Ok, what is the path your Deus Ex is installed in? Also, right click the TerminusMachina shortcut and copy-paste the target here.

Jun 16 2013 Anchor

C:\DeusEx\System\sstm.exe INI="C:\DeusEx\System\Terminus.ini" USERINI="C:\DeusEx\System\TerminusUser.ini" -h4x0r

this is the installation path
C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Deus Ex

Jun 16 2013 Anchor

I installed it to steam, and it just said to put Terminus.ini into system, which seemed odd, but I did do that, and nothing happened, I tried the other install ways as well, and I even tried modifying the shortcut's path. My Deus Ex is on Steam

Jun 16 2013 Anchor

Hm, looks like my FAQ got screwed up somehow. Sorry about that.

Your shortcut target is wrong. It should have the same paths as your installation path.

Change your TerminusMachina shortcut target to this:

C:\Program Files\GOG.com\DeusEx\System\sstm.exe INI="C:\Program Files\GOG.com\DeusEx\System\Terminus.ini" USERINI="C:\Program Files\GOG.com\DeusEx\System\TerminusUser.ini" -h4x0r

GAH, I can't write that target line apparently cause it keeps triggering some Moddb code that makes half the line disappear. Had to put it into a code block. Should be fixed now *cross fingers*

Jun 17 2013 Anchor

It still doesn't work says that the target is invalid

Jun 17 2013 Anchor

Maybe check the folder C:\Program Files\GOG.com\DeusEx\System\ and make sure that you have sstm.exe, Terminus.ini and TerminusUser.ini there. It shouldn't say invalid path if there's a file actually there.

Perhaps try reinstalling the mod?

Jun 18 2013 Anchor

The file are there and I reinstalled the mod 8 times but nothing it won't work

Jun 18 2013 Anchor

"Deus Ex" should be "DeusEx" (no space) in the path. Maybe it's that? Pretty strange error. What OS do you have?

Oh, you know what, try putting " " double quotes around your path so it reads "C:\Program Files\GOG.com\DeusEx\System\sstm.exe"

Apparently, having spaces in your path can screw with Windows shortcuts.

Jun 18 2013 Anchor

It still doesn't work I've even downloaded the mod again but nothin. well I guess I will have to recover my old deus ex copy perhaps it will work with that. Anyway thanks for the help

I'm really enjoing the mod so far! The writing is top-notch!

[Patch v1.1]:
-Shirley (@ Pawn Shop) turned into a cash dispenser after I fixed the robot.
Continues doing it after the chat involving the Nukilas-questline.

-I'm using Tron's hideout as a storage, but he's bugging me by constantly switching to conversation screen.

-"Let There Be Solar" sidequest: Jones can be milked for Copper wire.
