If you reduce every projectile you see here to 50% scale it's going to look a lot better, maybe dim the texture a bit too so it's more subtle. You want to see ship vs ship engagements with lasers as weapons, not a laser light show with ships on both sides.
Agreed! I was just about to suggest that maybe this mod should take a note from EaW:RE lasers and such and here we are, the man himself beating me to the punch!
