A full arsenal modern American weapons like the M60 Patton and M1 Abrams tanks are now available in Sudden Strike 3 for the first time, although in Saudi service in the war in Yemen. Meeting them in combat will be tenacious Yemeni resistance fighters, who exploit the terrain to turn the battle in their favour.

Decisive Storm
AH-64 Apache attack helicopters and F-15E Strike Eagles swarm overhead as columns of American-made M-60 Patton tanks, M939 trucks towing M198 howitzers and M113 APCs advance cautiously into the mountainous terrain. Humvees and hardened MRAPs also move forward as escorts. Crews glance nervously at the peaks of the hills surrounding them. At any moment, AK-47 and RPG-7 fire could erupt in their direction. Will these men flee, or steel their nerves and find advantageous terrain to take the fight to their opponents?
This is the opening of the 2015 Saudi attack on Yemen, "Decisive Storm", perhaps named by Americans in the tradition of "Desert Storm" of 1990, which saw many of the same vehicles in service. Whether this operation goes smoothly or your American-supplied military equipment gets bogged down in fighting with skilled enemy troops is in your hands.
More dependent on your vehicles and air power than the fighters opposing you, this will be a test of cold Western technology against the hearts of the Yemeni troops.
Marib Dam
A vast operation presented from the Yemeni perspective. This scenario allows Yemeni troops and resistance fighters to recapture historic locations of Yemen, including the ancient Marib Dam and the pillars of the Throne of the Queen of Sheba.
Opposing you will be large concentrations of US-supplied forces and equipment, including M1 Abrams tanks on the ground, and several groups of bandits from the AQAP insurgent group. You will mainly be using light irregular forces and you will have technicals, including some with mounted anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) like the Iranian-made "Toophan".
You will also have access to aging weapons still in service in Yemen, such that they are reskins of World War Two units from the original game. This will be your chance to prove that tactical skill is more important than technology, leading fighters through mountainous terrain to descend on the enemy's flanks and burn their vehicles.
Unlike the real operation, you will have the chance to go deeper into Marib, beyond the dam and into the city, if you are skilled enough.
