Hello, it's Toash.

It's been a long time since I updated everybody on anything related to this mod; except for close friends. I want to stop the silence and talk a little bit about how much work has been done recently (or the lack thereof) and the lack of a demo releasing.

So, where'd that demo go huh? It's not releasing. Plain and simple. Too much of my limited time was going into trying to make a good demo for everyone and I realized that a demo doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. However, we are still working; just on a release. I'm not talking about a full mod releasing however, as through discussion we came to the conclusion to release this mod in chapters, to give us more time to work. As I had taken a small break from modding, and the rest of the team basically went onto other things for the time I was gone, there was barely anything done. Since my break is done, progress on the mod should hopefully speed up more than it was, and you'll all get the first chapter of the mod within this year. This is not a promise though.

The story, through my break did get worked on though. As my break was more related to my growing hatred of modding tools than writing, in the break I did rewrite the first cutscene of the story, consulting other writers for tips to make sure my writing was up to standard. I will share with you, a snippit of the story below, as it is the first cutscene.

There is more writing than this, but to avoid spoilers this is all I will show. See you, hopefully soon.

Hey man. This mod looks really cool! I can see your influences and how those influences have driven you to create something of your own. Going forward remember that criticism is important to take on board but don't let people walk all over you and your creation. This is your mod, Your style and at the end of the day you'll release what you believe is the best vision of what you set out to create. So stick to your guns and learn all you can about the source engine and I'll be there to play this cool mod when It's released :)

I see that you added the Construction worker, but will there be more variety like, Surgeons, Nurses, Police officers or Military soldiers?

Yes, we will add more variety in the enemies.

Also, the Construction worker will be a late game enemy that you will see in and after the Construction site area.

Gave it a go and it's quite rough, seems to be a linear de-make of Cry of Fear.

Some good concepts, although I must admit I had more fun with the bonus maps such as the Afraid of Monsters bathroom recreation and the short coop level.

The shotgun also takes eons to reload and is practically useless and I can barely see anything in the forest area and had to cheat just to progress multiple times due to it's total inaccessibility.

Thanks for giving feedback, i'll make sure to try not to literally rip off cry of fear as much. in the final product most of your problems with the mod should be fixed. I would like to make the mod less linear later on, but it's kinda hard to make different paths connect but i'll try my best to add stuff like that.

Well, I played. Maps are empty. But I enjoyed playing. There is not enough dark music. More suspense. Combines spoil the atmosphere. It is not always clear where to go. I would like to help. Write if interested.

Yeah i think the combines are a little bad, sorry for making it unclear where to go, i'm also trying to work on the music thing but im still learning instruments and the source engine itself to, i am intrested about you helping, could you tell me what types of stuff you can do? eg; music modelling mapping coding?

Made models, made maps. Coded a little. Copy - Paste coding. It is difficult to complete something. And I have no ideas. You have better ideas than me. So write or in PM, I will help as much as I can. Better with models or maps first. Thnks.
