Overview:
How much chaos can you cause in 30 seconds? Thats the premise of SaC's Smash gametype, throw a bunch of players in an area to cause as much damage and chaos as possible in a 30 second round filled with destruction. After each 30 second round – your total property damage is calculated and you win that amount of cash for yourself or team to buy new weapons and means to vandalize and smash everything...or anyone in your path.
Game-Play:
The planned game-modes are as follows...
-Smash:
on your own, try to rack up as much property damage in 30 seconds.
-Team Smash:
with your team, try to rack up more property damage than the other team in 30 seconds
-Deathmatch:
duh
-team deathmatch:
team duh
Since deathmatch is a given, lets go a bit in depth with the smash game type...
Scoring:
You rack up property damage based on what you smash, and how much you smash. Smashable items have different values, for example, that sportscar will get you more points than the station wagon behind it.
Combos:
The sports car is worth $2500, whereas the station wagon is $1800, smashing each of them seperately will get you $4300 in property damage, but - if one of them causes the other to blow up, you get that $4300 + a combo multiplier, since theres two of them, its a x2 multiplier, your total property damage for that is now $8600! Yay math! Miniscule objects such as windows do not affect your combo multiplier.
At the end of each round - your presented with a buy menu to purchase new means to destroy.
For those of you who don't check the forums, we've finally got the new web-page finished. I'm hard at work creating the 3rd person camera - trying for an over-the-shoulder style, like resident evil 4...only not as awkward. If third person isn't your thing, you will be able to switch to first person. I'll have a fresh batch media up soon.
I would like to welcome MasterChopChop to the team - he will be helping me create content for the mod, mapping, sounds, etc.
And I never did give Hunt3r a proper introduction. He's our new webmaster, he designed the new page, and for that I would like to thank him.
Thats it for now, just letting ya know we're making progress, check the site for updates!
Sorry, it was moved and i forgot to change the link in the profile. Heres the correct link Sac.gamemod.net. Ive been tied up trying to finish other projects, and ive been helping stuffie with sdbc2, so i havent gotten any updates done. The third person camera was completed, and the last thing i was working on was modelling a couple of the weapons. When i get the time i will upload the concepts of the weapons i had in mind, with a couple renders for some.
I'm getting some Xreg.co.uk thing :s
Tell me if you need any help i can do some minor jobs..*watch*
Making slow progress, im nearly done the third person camera, im halfway through the first map, and ive just completed a full design document outlining everything that needs to be done. I hope to have a big update with media for you guys soon.
mmm smells unique.
Thats just a small room in the city map im working on, its not stealing from perfect dark - hell, I've never played perfect dark much myself. My inspiration for that lobby was the matrix.
We finally got a host that supports what we needed, the site will be up within a couple days. Sac.game-mod.net
that lobby is a steal from a map on the N64 calassic Perfect dark, and dont say it isnt because i remember throwing my prox mines every where in the room
...I like starwars...
yeah...anyways - need a host that supports ssi/shtml so we can get the website up and going. If anyone knows of one - let me know ;)
That lobby looks so cool.
If you need some advice on coding, just hit me up on AIM: goodfuhnuthin
I'm not 100% comfortable with the SDK yet, but my C++ skills are good.
