The balance sucks. Wraith is the weakest race.The Goa'uld have an ability like ion bolt (disables weapons and engines) and it is spammed over and over and over again and in one battle 30 min passed without a single ship being destroyed; when i tried to leave the system they attacked and when i attacked back they re-enabled it. Wraith mother-ships are not meant for battle, they need more battle oriented abilities, the crystal and metal upgrades are locked too high on the tech tree; i went vs an asgard titan(lvl 5) with 2 mother-ships (lvl 1) and 500 fleet logistics of tier 1 fully upgraded ships= they melted in 30 sec; damage dealt to the titan 1000. Also, there is not much tech in the tech tree. That mother-ship needs a lot more darts to compensate for its weaknesses.
I will take a look at the Jan'tak Ion ability. It should not be working on caps/titans and if necessary, I may tune the cost and/or cooldown a bit. It should be a strong ability but it may need some adjusting.
Regarding the Asgard Titan vs Hiveships... You are taking your level 1 ships up against a level 5 400 or 500 supply titan. It's not really an apples to apples comparison. The Asgard Titan is also specifically designed to annihilate groups of small ships with relative ease so I expect that would go badly for you. That being said, the titan was originally a "super weapon" for the Asgard that was converted into a titan and may need a little tuning yet. I would disagree that the Hiveships themselves are not combat oriented. They don't have a lot of flashy abilities but they should have pretty solid base combat stats.
In magnetic clouds and gas giants, the fleet's attack and moving speed are greatly reduced.
There are no movement speed impairing effects applied directly to either magnetic clouds or gas giants.
