The past month has been full of unwrapping, texturing and a bit of modelling. I like to break the process down to 3 main stages:
Fleshing out a design and watching a creation come to life is my favorite stage. Seeing an object take shape and actually look like what its supposed to makes me determined to finish it off. If I'm re-creating a replica, then finishing is easy as you already know what it should look like and know when to stop. Things of your own creation are always a separate beast entirely.
The second stage is my least favorite: the unwrap. Time consuming, dull and generally saps the fun out of the whole thing.
Texturing is always a delight. It's when all the hard work comes together and truly gives life to the object.
With a large degree of objects that I want finished now at the stage of unwrapping, I ended up having to switch to different, secondary objects to keep it fun. Overall things get completed, just not the ones I want done now.
And so I give you pillars:
Back to unwrapping, more updates to come with the progress!
