This is one of the things i already can't understand about Rogue One: How can this be a troop transport ? It's the size of an X-wing,where do troops go ?

Its not the size of a X-Wing, its (not exagerating) bigger than a X-Wing. I scaled using this image:

Google.com.ar

Besides the X-Wing is 12.5m and a LAAT is 17.9m, not to much difference, so why the U-Wing size would be bad?

LAAT has a larger height scale, makes more sense as the soldiers can stand up in it easier meaning they take up less room than if they were sitting down.

As much as I hate the disney stuff, this is an alright design.

The MAAT would have been better I think, more practical less overexaggerated wings

I think it would be cool if in a space battle the U-Wing could be used to board enemy ships and capture them. Obviously such an ability would need to be balanced, but I think it would be a cool risk-reward thing for taking standard infantry into a space battle.

Is there any way the U-Wing could be used both in space and on land? In space, acting as a beefed up X-wing and on land, acting like a Lancet wing with transport capabilities?

To answer to everybody:
1. I dont like the MAAT. Is just a 4 wings LAAT.
2. I have another ship planned for boarding ships ;)
3. The U-Wing will appear in space as long as you have infantry units in a fleet, but the Lancet idea is very good actually, I´ll have to look in to it.

Thanks everybody :)

Description

Also known as U-Wing, was a transport/gunship model used by the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Used to drop troops into battle, and provide cover fire for them, U-Wings featured at least one side door which could also be used as a viewport for a mounted blaster cannon. The wings of the U-Wing were retractable and could be positioned forward-facing or backward-facing depending on the situation.

At last I got this ship, she has been a very difficult girl to do. I had to struggle to open it in 3ds Max but now is here and ready. It will act as the transport ship for infantry only, so it will only appear in the space when you get infantry units and when deploying them in ground.

With this update I want to say that I will have to stop working in the mod for a time, looks like the mod is crashing randomly, without any sign of what maybe causing it. So the page will be silent for some time until the mod works well. Wish me luck.
