So I hope everyone is doing fine in this New Year.
Here I have something for you to decide, the YVAW came up with a really good looking TIE Defender, but it wasn´t the original design, it was a design created by FractalSponge:
So I have done the original TIE Defender, what do you think:
A) We keep the FractalSponge design.
B) We use the original design.

I prefer Fractal's design since it looks like it can hold the Hyperdrive and shield generators it's supposed to. Plus Fractal's looks more sturdy. The original just looks kinda flimsy to me.
EIDT: I do think it would be a good idea to release the original design version as a modder's resource for anyone who would like to use it.

Fractals
Looking back on the defender, I'd do so much differently if I had built that model now instead of years back. There's a huge number of polies I spent on useless things like actual window bars, and the wings themselves. If you end up using my fractalsponge ship, you should make an attempt to remove all of that nonsense, will be so much better for the game engine.
And yes fractals rendition of the Defender is way ahead of the "regular" version, definitly keep that. Not saying that because I built the model :)
I´ll see what I can do, but isn´t 3051 ok for fighters?
I really like both, but I grew up with the original, so I guess it means more for me :)

Fractalsponge has a great sense of redesigning things, so most of the time I prefer his work. Jeroenimos presentation of the design looks excellent, although a poly-reduction would be really nice (some mods tend to allow literally hundreds of fighters on a map, meaning possibly 300k or more poly just for small craft). It can be compansated with a more detailed texture and normal map.

As Bucman said I should release the original version for anyone that likes it and want´s to use it.
