Raider-class Corvette image - Star Wars Rise of Hope mod for Star Wars: Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
Star Wars Rise of Hope is a mod that will be based on the early Empire and its fall against the Rebel Alliance and its following sucessor the New Republic.
The Raider-class corvette was a starship manufactured by the Galactic Empire to support the TIE fighters used to engage the fleet of the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. The hardy corvette was armed with dual heavy laser cannons, an ion cannon, with some concussion missiles. The corvette was equipped with a hyperdrive to complement its use in the Outer Rim Territories as a patrol ship.
One Raider-class corvette, the Corvus, was utilized by the elite Inferno Squadron, lead by Commander Iden Versio.
The Raider-class will be only a unique hero ship for Inferno Squadron. It will be very fast and maneuverable, lighty armed but with things that other ships of its size lacks most of the time, like an ion cannon and missiles.

Yep, but only as a hero ship. Either way once the mod is out, people can code it as a buildable unit.

God, everyone's adding Raider to their mods. I mean, i love Star Wars: Armada as well, but still, what's up with such a sudden urge to add this particular vessel ?
Well it has more recently become a canon unit and will be in Battlefront II which has some epic shots of the Raider in the trailer. That could be why it's popularity is on the rise.
I actually know it from some years since WarbNull released it, I got really surprised to see it make its way to a official videogame like DICE BFII.
