hi everybody and welcome to Earth at war. This mod this mod is based of a massive war between the intergalactic empire, the Earth alliance and the Black hole pirates. The music is already done right now and we're now doing the modelling and the coding, however, we still need a rigger and a skinner and an additional modeller or coder would be welcome too.
Since I know how to change the projectiles the ships will fire and the fire speed I tried to make two beam canons for the Krayt/Aggresor class destroyer by making the projectiles being fired at an extremely fast rate and in one direction. Here are the results.
Not to bad but something that I've always noticed with this sort of weapon. If you take a look at the TNG based trek mod that Raziel Kanos was making the effect looks good if the ships are stationary. When moving and firing the effect is as if the ship is firing from a point off the ship model completely. He never found any fix for it. Does it do the same thing?? Thats why phaser based weapons aren't supported by EaW's game engine.
good idea but this is not going to work on moving ships, allso that beam would be extremely powerful (as it shoots so much and is not originally meant for that game lol) and probably will unbalance the mod compleately, unless, u make the hardpoints more stronger and add some numbers to the shield power lol.
Well, the beam canons will only fire with an ability. If you don't use the ability it'll fire normal turbo lasers
Well, stargate mod has well working awsome beams (called asgard beams), u can ask merlin how he did them, maybe he helps ya:-)
Perhaps he modified the beam weapon from Pietts star destroyer. You could also try to ask z3r0x as the Venator in RAW has a beam canon.
mm yea that is a possibility, wonder why star trek mod creators didnt ask from them
Because the trek mod was being made well before RAW was started.
