Should I replace the Black Sun Syndicate with Mandalorians?

Posted by on

I was busy thinking up structures and units for the Black Sun faction, and thought it would be more interesting to have Mandalorians act as the counter to the Republic Peacekeepers during the Aftermath War era, as I think the Mandalorian people have a more sympathetic and genuine cultural identity than does a criminal syndicate.

Story:

Of all the peoples of the galaxy that suffered the Tiberium Cataclysm, the people of Mandalore were among the ones that were hit the hardest. But in the twenty years that followed the event, the Mandalorians ended up developing their own means of stopping the spread of Tiberium and processing it into a source of income, turning something that had once greatly hurt them into a strength. Certain clans even saw it as an opportunity to return to the glorious warmongering days of the Mando'ade, particularly the clan led by one Kento Lynns*. A natural and charismatic leader, Lynns gained a lot of support from the traditionalists over the years, resulting in a brief civil war where his forces overwhelmed the pacifists and the victors proclaimed him Mand'alor the Unprejudiced.

*That name might be changed in the future.

What do you guys think?

Sure, sounds like a good idea. An elite but low numbers faction, rather than a criminal scum.
