Strange occurances / (?) Bugs. Thread - Narodnaya Solyanka mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl

1. In my inventory, RIA and RIW are not visible and weightless (will confirm this when I get to my PC, next week. Purchased quite a few of these invisible items and as soon as I picked up my repair kit, bam!!!! they all got added to it and it weighed 23 kilogrammes! Now, there is no way to reduce its weight.

2. Also, I have done even ATP but Akim is nowhere to be seen! It is really disheartening. I am discussing it on your Discord and am told that he should have appeared after I saved Yurik, Yuriku in the guide! Youtu.be. But, I guess it was a bug!

If it helps, my comment on YouTube where it was suggested that I didn't help Bes: @Ping500Kosiv , but I helped Bes and even lost my AK when a bandit hit me. I couldn't find it and Bes quest still has, "Talk to Bes" and a yellow marker. Even after giving Bes beer in Darkscape, this is still an unfinished quest. Immortal Bug? Anyway to fix this?

1/ Thought you could only buy the kits IF you had the repair kit in your backpack. Anyway to avoid the weight issue only get a few at a time.

2/ Akim can sometimes have the habit of heading down into the Cordon from his spot toward the railway bridge chasing after mutants. Check down there & see if you can see him. (I've never had him not show up)

3/I've got jobs that are completed but still get the 'marker' for them. I just ignore it. What do you have to talk to Bes about? If it was helping him with the bandits, again I would ignore it. I think the reward is a small anount of money. Maybe there is a bandit hiding somewhere. At the back maybee?

1. I've experienced something similar to this. The weight of the repair kits didn't register until I either used one or took off my armor and put it on again.

I've had Akim wonder off, too. Just open the map and you can find him easily.

I was told on YouTube Youtu.be that unless I "Talk to Bes" after the Bandit task, Akim doesn't spawn. That is why I am concerned with this pending task.

My bad? Apparently, I didn't talk to Bes before killing the bandits as the task hasn't even started!

It is 5 30 AM in India and after a hiatus of 17 days, I resume my Narodnaya Solyanka journey. This is bloddy addictive!

I looked in every corner of Cordon but he is not there! I guess that Cook Chef will have to use chicken eggs instead of crow's eggs. Akim quests are dead!

Glad to see you're back at it.

Where is Bes now in your game? See if you can talk with him to finish the task so Akim can spawn.

Akim is not a required character and none of his tasks are required either. Just a secondary character with side quests. If he doesn't spawn even after talking with Bes, you can continue on with your playthrough with no issues.

The guide may be updated in the future, but that's just a task I don't have time to undertake at the moment.

Yes, very glad to be back. I even got my special chair and a new Ant ESports MK 3200 keyboard on this trip to the plains. I have just installed the micropatch and shall start my journey, now. When I was away, on more than one occasion I dreamt of Narodnaya Solyanka!

Bes is in Darkscape and I delivered his beer and there was no option to talk to him about the pending task. I will go there again, once I deliver the Exoskeletons from Sakharov to Voronin and update here. As I said earlier, I think that I did not talk to Bes before killing the bandits as the talking triggers their arrival and I wanted to nip that entourage in its bud. As I have done in other mods, I lob a few grenades in that general direction of the Bandits and then talk to Bes so that the incoming wave consists of fewer bandits. I am sure, now that I faintly remember, that I could not talk to Bes as I killed all of them before coming to Bes and he was on his way to Darkscape, by then. So, on your assurance, I shall not miss Akim.

On my next playthrough, and there SHALL be one, I will be more careful.

Let us see that how it goes after the patch!

1. Also, the Elite Anamoly Detector was not working in my game. Let us see if the patch fixed it.

2. I have searched in Discord and elsewhere but there is no mention of Kalugin whose entry came in my PDA. Any hint about that? BRB with a screenshot.

3. 3 of my purchased stash locations have again been revealed by dead bodies' PDAs. I had emptied one and on the rediscovery, it was again marked on the map and full. So, the other two, I have lost one lot, right?

As for the screenshot. Go to the Garbage & look in the two big water tanks. You should see a body in one them.

I don't know if this should be a separate thread? I'm in Generators with the Shoot down the helicopter task. When I get too close to the antenna and get Ghost's warning, the timer vanishes and I can't find the helicopter.

Yea, it's a bit tricky to climb. Takes me several tries myself to do it correctly. When you climb to the top, try jumping while still on the ladder to get to the top. Might take you a bit, but where's there's a will there's a way.

And as Hipster pointed out, detectors need to be attached to your belt for them to function.

As for the Generators. You can't get into the protected area until later. For the he helicopter go to the centre of the map. Last play thru for me it wasn't there. Not a big deal though. Not a game breaker.

With the ladder try a crouch jump as close as possible to the top. As you now know.....it's a pain in the butt.

2 more sticking points. I haven't "discovered" path to swamps and cannot get to Tyrant.

Mercenary called Gray is not at the marked location in Wild Territory.

Sorry for asking so much of handholding but this game is too complex, methinks.

Swamp transition you will get from Sid after turning in the briefcase from the southern military checkpoint in Cordon.

Gray will show up when other jobs are done. Just keep pushing on. When you hit a brick wall check your pda for jobs that need doing & talk to others who might have a job to get you going.

eg - If you have not got the job to get the case for Sid then go talk to him.

Although you don't have to do jobs as soon as you get them you have to remember what needs doing, especially when you get stuck.....NPCs give a lot of hints....maybe write it down till you get familiar with what's going on.

I was losing hope and interest in the morning when you two guys commented and that changed all that!

“When you hit a brick wall check your pda for jobs that need doing” by HipsterDoofus was particularly helpful as “Swamp transition you will get from Sid after turning in the briefcase” by Codex gave me the direction that I was lacking. In OGSE/R, I did this job in a manner of cheating by bringing the Colonel from City 32 and then the Military didn’t react as I took that briefcase and task was done. But, AssUMe is an ass, actually.

So, I decided to get the Family Rifle as it was only 12 PM. What a ride the ‘c’aves were! My heartbeat touched nearly 140 bpm!

Now, that I was there in the caves, I checked the PDA and decided to look for Baldy’s Treasure, as well; conveniently forgetting that when he gave me that job, he also gave me the transition to the ‘C’aves! I spent one hour looking for it before realising the difference in the small and capital C! But, what a fight it was!

I slept till 1230 AM and in spite of my best efforts, no matter how stealthily I went in over the concrete slabs at the eastern end of the check-post, I was always discovered; HOWEVER, I never got chastised by Pappa Sidorovich for failing the mission that was to be accomplished using stealth and not brute force. So, I did the obvious after trying for nearly 30 minutes and 20+ loads: exterminate all the personnel at the check-point and the BTR.

I could not get out of the main gate as some invisible gun kept killing me with one bullet/shot from the western side. I snuck out using the ladder and as I reached the Village, Military were attacking in full swing. We dealt with them and now I am in the Swamp to meet Mr. Tyrant.

As soon as I reached here, it struck me! What if the Military now comes with full force of BTRs and Hinds and obliterates the Village! I will be very-very sad and guilty! Let us see, what happens!

There is a lot to do down in the Swamp so take your time. You should have got a note from Borov's body in Dark Valley concerning 'Rat". Don't forget him.

Look in your backpack. The note should be in there.

So, i want to ask about bug quest on Kalmyk when i take grenade from stash it crashed suddenly. Can anybody explain to me why it happened ?

There is an explosion but it should not crash. Don't know why it is crashing. What does the log say? Find it in the _appdata_ folder. Scroll down to where it says "error", then copy / paste that.

No bug. Probably the standard Swamps crash. Check the Readme for workaround.

Now, the Elite anomaly detector! It refuses to detect more than half of anomalies and the few that it detects, it detects most of them at a distance of 2-5 metres. It suddenly appears on the detector and not like other mods where it becomes visible from the egde of the radar. Is this a bug? This renders the detector pretty much useless.

I was getting frustrated so I did just the required things for Tyrant's PC to see that how it would unravel. All extra that I did was to visit "my room" in the Clear Sky base where, in Anomaly, I have a thousand memories with Hip! Aaaah! Tonight shall be difficult!

Also, do I have to kill the Insane Stalker in the swamp village just outside of the Freedom base to get his flash drive? On being hit by him I did receive new Intel in the form of two entries in my PDA's recipe section. This mission makes me cry every time in OGSE and OGSR as I once had a gunman who had Polycystic Kidney Disease and it affected his brain as well. One morning at 4, after having written a suicide note, he gave me his Sterling L2A3 and begged me to shoot him because of the pain. This mission always reminds me of him and the emotional pain we both went through. He is fine now, having got one kidney from his wife.

I don't know if what you're experiencing with the detector is a bug or if the radius is by design. If it's not detecting all anomalies, I can take a look into that, might just be something they overlooked.

In regards to your inventory, what resolution do you use? I don't have that same issue, it moves up a bit but not that much.

I'm sorry to hear of your story, bhaisaab, but I'm glad he's doing well now. I don't think it's a main quest, so you may be able to get away without doing it.

The only reward for Max's task other than the artifact recipe from the PDA is a Desert Eagle with no ammo.
