SWS is a vast modification set in a lore inspired by the Warring States period of Japanese history. While many of the concepts are inspired by history, this mod is also heavily influenced by Japanese Pop Culture, and how it has portrayed this time in history. In order to better fit the Elder Scrolls universe, this mod will include fantastical elements such as magic, demons and other RPG staples.

This development team is small, the engine is limited and our lifetimes are finite. Would you rather see less sooner, or more later? Maybe a hybrid?

As of this posting, new worldspaces in Skyrim are a serious challenge. The vastly talented team making the LOTR worldspace have managed to do amazing things, but without a few amazing patches or an additional team member who's only job is to get a new worldspace with LOD working, it is going to take some time to get our own worldspace up and running.

One of the things I have considered is reducing the scope of the mod to creating one or more themed villages. They would include all of the Warring States era assets we have been working on, but within the Skyrim realm. To me, the problems with this approach are A) Skyrim's lore may not be very compatible with our own, and B) in some cases, in order to do what we would like, we will have to replace assets, which may cause the rest of Skyrim to function in unexpected ways.

Another thing I have been considering is simply releasing a mini-mod or two along the way, consisting of new races, weapons and followers. This would consist of a few quest relating to acquiring our new assets, as well as some NPCs who you can interact with / marry, make friends with or add to your party.
