The Marines of the 74th MEU have been deployed on Tau1 Gruis for years as a deterrent to pirate raid and have remained a dominant force on the battlefield since then. Unlike the volunteers and conscripts of the Colonial Guard's own ground troops, the Marines are highly motivated, highly skilled, and eqipped with the best weapons and armor the AWSC has to offer. The Marine Fire Team is comprised of three Riflemen and a Support Gunner. The Support Gunner is effective at suppressing enemy infantry squads, putting then in a position for the Riflemen to easily dispatch. A Fire Team can also deploy a magnetic anti-tank mine that will devestate any vehicle that is caught in it's grip.
