Engineers have always played a crucial role in mobile infantry operations. In the past, they have only been armed with their tools and a prayer. Today's Combat Engineers are outfitted with standard TrooperSuit armor and an M8C Battle Rifle for their protection. The Engineer's role on the field remains similar to the role it has played for centuries: Engineers are deployed to capture and secure strategic positions on the field that may be of interest to the local ground commander. They also have the ability to deploy an autonomous drone that can either repair friendly vehicles or assist the Engineer in combat.
