The UAC discovers hidden caverns on the dark side of the Moon. Upon exploring through them they come into an ominous hall lined with violet rock and pulsating crystals as lava flows around. At the end of the hall is a beckoning portal. The UAC sends in a research team along with squads of marines. Days have passed since their entry and communications have been lost. The UAC then calls in the DOOM Marine to go in after the team. The DOOM Marine will discover Hells Shadow on the other end of the portal. This SHADOW HELL is powered by the fear of mortals lost in its ethereal grasp. The DOOM Marine will face familiar yet twisted versions of his demonic foes. Now he must find the fate of the research team and find a way out of this dark land. He must traverse treacherous mountains, freighting woods, dark caverns, and much more before the final show down at the Evil Cathedral.

RULES: Designed for classic Doom 2, to play as intended disable the jump and crouch function so you can't cheat the map, unless you just want to, but mouse look is encouraged. Autoaim is not a bad idea either as the crossbow is a bit tricky to aim, its a personal preference though. And make sure to bind a secondary fire key for the custom chainguns alt-fire mode.
NUMBER OF PLAYERS: Built for single player, should be possible with two players but may break certain areas, attempt at own risk.
ESTAMATED PLAY TIME: 1-2 Hours
DIFFICULTY: Built for Ultraviolence
PORT COMPATIBILITY: GZDOOM, Tested on latest version 2-4-0 and version 2-3-2. Does not work on ZDoom to my knowledge, sorry if that is your prefered port, I may try to make it compatible for Zdoom in
the future, but its being discontiuned anyway at this point.
LOAD INSTRUCTIONS: Drag SHADOW HELL over GZDOOM excutable. Requires DOOM 2 WAD. Any custom music wad that overides original DOOM 2 tracks should be able to be loaded as well, I find that Doom metal Vol 4 goes nicely, but what ever turns your bfg on :)
KNOWN BUGS AND/OR GLITCHES: No Serious bugs. Two script warnings do appear upon loading warning about Unknown class name "PHANTOM HATCH" and "GHOSTHATCH", I have experienced no problems with these warnings, not sure why they are there but they do not effect anything to the best of my knowledge. Possible small visual bug of floor appearing to be missing, it is in a very obscure area likely not to be seen at all and is very small. I fixed many issues like this, but everytime I fixed one area the bug would show up else where, wierd. But the only visual bug I have experenced should not be noticed and does not effect the map one bit. If anyone experiences bugs or glitches let me know and Ill see what I can do.
ABOUT: SHADOW HELL is my most ambitious project so far. It includes custom monsters, items, decorations, and weapons compiled from many awesome mod creators rolled into a unique cohesive experience through my largest map yet.

doom 3?
No, Shadow Hell is a custom map for Doom 2. You may be seeing one of my other mods Doom 3 Definitive edition, which is a mod for Doom 3.
Oh I think I see what the confusion is now. When I uploaded Shadow Hell I linked it to my other mods. So when you are viewing my doom 3 mod the file for Shadow Hell shows up as well. Sorry about the confusion. I thought linking the mods was only going to show them on the side not put the files side by side like that. I'm still getting used to the website.
is this compatible with other weapon mods?
Other weapon mods may work for the pistol, shotguns and the chainsaw since those are vanilla. But the other weapons placed in the map are custom weapons from Realm 667. So I imagine any other weapon mods would not work unless they automatically overwrite the previous custom weapons. You could try it, but it might break the weapon placements and ammo pickups. Besides, I balanced the map around the custom weapons. So replacing them may mess with the balance and pace of the map. So I can't promise other weapon mods would work.
Gave a very small update for Shadow Hell. Was revisiting it to make sure it works on the latest GZdoom builds, which it does, and came across a couple of areas not properly closed off or areas where the player could potentially become trapped. Hopefully there are no other issues like that I have managed to miss. If anyone runs into problems just let me know.
