I've played this mod and it's really awesome. The sounds and atmosphere are great.
I'm just wondering if it's just me having trouble, but the speed of 173 combined with the dark textures that are making him almost invisible while he can easily cover two rooms in a blink now, are getting me killed quite abit. As the standard procedure of dodging him is failing now, I'm wondering if this difficulty level is intentional or if it's just taking a while to figure out using closed doors much more to get around him.
I mean, I tested it. I wasn't able to get around him and leave a room towards the other side and close the door within one blink. I kept getting killed with the faster blink timer and the speedy scp. However, it added alot of fear when he flew up from out of nowhere all the time so the basic concept is amazing. Maybe you can add a little grace moment so he'll stop in front of you after making a huge jump. Then you can try to dodge and it's still extremely scary.
I love hard games though so it's probably just me taking some practice.
Hello!, From what I've read in your comment. no, the mod isn't suppose to be hard, I'll try and make SCP-173 slower but making him really slow also ruins the point of SCP-173 and that's his thing. He moves at a fast speed to break his prey's neck.
Hey there, If you want SCP-173 to be slower then I'd recommend downloading Release 9.0.
It's fine, I was getting used to his increased speed and the blink timer. You just have to be more careful when entering a room and when leaving one. And you can't take your time getting around him anymore. You just have to be fast.
The new texture made it work well as I could see him in the distance.
Oh and btw... omg, all I can say is that this new texture (big baby face thing) is super scary. That in combination with the updated rattle sound... I was never that scared when playing CB. Your mod is incredible.
Updated feedback on 9.0: I've played version 9.0. I'd say it's perfect now so far. 173 is faster than in the og game which is great (covers about 1-1.5 rooms per blink now). I also love how he's finally able to zip around corners while you could easily stun him in the og game. Not sure how you did it but it's amazing and adds alot of fear when the monsters have the ai to nail you by simply getting around obstacles now.
Your newest texture is great, too. While I loved the big baby version, now he looks like the old statue but it's like it was standing in an abandoned building for decades, getting really filthy and stained. This fits the theme of your game. The current texture is also perfectly dark enough but not 'invisible'. When you pay attention, you can see him without nv goggles.
