"This Empire Shall not fall so easily" - Sultan Farouk III

The Great Sack of Shariz in 1727 was a great blow to the prestige of the mighty Sarranid Sultans. The Last words of Sultan Farouk III as he lay dying of grief of such a huge loss in an old hospital of Ahmerrad echoes in the hearts of all Sarranids but specifically, his three sons.

"This Empire shall not fall so easily" . Shariz was lost. The Janissaries were in dissaray. In the midst of all this, The eldest of the brothers Shehzade Farouk rises to the throne and becomes Sultan Farouk IV in 1728. The new Sultan inherited a state that was steeped in debt and under invasion of the Kessick-Khergits.

But all is not lost. The second eldest, Shehzade Usama rallies the Janissaries in 1735 to fight a bloody battle against the Kessick-Khergits in the last moments of the Kessick-Sarranian War. With a new head, the Old Corps feels a breath of new life and, even though they field older equipment than the new nations of Calradia, They push the invaders back to walls of Tulga.

In 1739, The Swadian Empire and Commonwealth of Alvion intervene and hold the Narra Conference calling for an end to the war and for The Sarranid Empire to repay its debts. Crippled by The Narra Conference which forced it into Constitutional Monarchy. For 40 years, from 1740 the New Republic of Sarrania will rule the Empire from their Government Headquarters in Ahmerrad with the Sarranid Sultan only a figurehead, until the Empire can repay its debts.

This Empire Shall not fall so easily. After ruling with little power, Sultan Farouk IV and his brothers, Shehzade Gazi Usama and Shehzade Omer topple the Foreign installed regime in Ahmerad in the Revolution of Thalath in 1768. And Calradia stares in shock as the new Sarranid Foreign Policy takes shape.

Sultan Farouk constructs the new government capital Yenishariz by 1780 and Refuses to pay the debt to The Rhodok Republic, thus plunging the state into war.

In the new City of Yenishiraz, Shehzade Omer carries out a reformation amongst the soldiers in 1799 by creating the Sarranid Jedid Corp as a modern army with help from Castillo and Ancian captains.

And in the east Shehzade Gazi Usama prepares for another war against the Kessick-Khergit Hetmate with his old yet Invigorated Army.

The Empire Stabalises with military aid and guidance from the ageing Bhelerbey of Ahmerrad and the Emir of Bariyye. Their Mamluke Corps will also prove useful in the upcoming turmoil.

In 1800 a young officer appears near Yenishariz. He has arrived after studying abroad for some time. With him comes hope

This Empire Shall Not Fall So Easily!

So what does this submod change?

  • Total Overhaul of Sarranid Troop Tree.
  • Changing of Sarranid Lords names and titles. "Albay" shall now only be used for Lords coming into the Sarranid Empire from other Nations. The titles are now "Pasha" (Ottoman Empire), "Mir" (States in India), and "Serdar"
  • Sultan Farouk IV, his storyline (above) and his two brothers the two "Shehzade"s
  • Added a few new items like the "1799 Deli Carbine" and "Sarranid Scimitars"
  • Changed Food Quantities (eg. bread is now 100 units)
  • Removed Grenades form all units (it makes battles unenjoyably chaotic) Grenadiers are now good at melee.

The new units are as follows:

  • Sarranid Armed Citezenary (old: Sarranid Peasant Workers)
  • Sarranid Irregular Infantry and Archers (old: Bashi-Bazouk units)
  • Sarranid Janissary Infantry (with different armor)
  • Sarranid Janissary Musketeers (with different armor)
  • Sarranid Jedid Guard, Cavalry and Riflemen (almost same as old)
  • Sarranid Janissary OId Guard (Elite Old Line Infantry with better melee stats but worse range stats than the Sarranid Jedid Guard)
  • Sarranid Chela Marksmen (Elite Old Riflemen from the Sarranid Mirs)
  • Sarranid Deli Cavalry which becomes
  • Sarranid Junior Mamlukes (different armor and weapons) which can either become
  • Sarranid Senior Mamlukes (strong Old Melee Cavalry) or
  • Sarranid Jedid Cavalry (Modern Mounted Invantry)

Not much changes were made to Jedid units.

If siege bugged in CASTLES:
In Mount&Blade Warband\Modules folder go to the Native folder and then SceneObj folder.
Copy the file scn_castle_(castle number)_exterior.sco and paste to SceneObj folder from Reconquista 1257 and replace.

If siege bugged in EXTRA CASTLES:
Make a copy of a scn castle exterior you like and change number to the one you want to replace."

Fixing Broken Sieges in Mount & Blade Warband

Client Side Coding Tutorial

If a siege is broken,

it means that the "scn_town_(town no.)_walls" or (for a castle) "scn_castle_(castle no.)_exterior.sco" is broken.

This is a file found in your Mount & Blade Warband folder in the file called SceneObj:

(Steam\steamapps\common\MountBlade Warband\Modules\Calradia Imperial Age3.1\SceneObj)

  • Now, Open your (Steam\steamapps\common\MountBlade Warband\Modules\Calradia Imperial Age3.1\SceneObj) folder
  • And your original Mount & Blade (Steam\steamapps\common\MountBlade Warband\Modules\Native\SceneObj) folder

Each Town and castle has a number (a list will be provided at bottom of article), after Identifying which number town or castle siege is broken, follow the following steps:

  1. Lets say Sargoth's siege is broken.
  2. Sargoth is "town_1" in native
  3. It is also "town_1" in the Calradia Imperial Age 3.1 mod.
  4. Go to your "SceneObj" folder in your Native Module
  5. Find the "scn_town_1_walls"
  6. Copy it
  7. Paste it in your "SceneObj" File in your Calradia Imperial Age 3.1 Module
  8. (Say yes to the Replace Prompt)
  9. Open up the game and try the siege again.
  10. If the siege is different but still broken then try "scn_town_2_walls" (but rename it to the one you are trying to fix, in this case you would rename "scn_town_2_walls" to "scene_town_1_walls") and so on until you find a wall that works.

In the case of castles:

  1. Lets say that Fort Culmarrburg's siege is broken.
  2. Fort Culmarrburg is "castle_1" in Calradia Imperial Age Mod
  3. Culmarr Castle is "castle_1" in Native
  4. Go to your "SceneObj" folder in your Native Module
  5. Find the "scn_castle_1_exterior"
  6. Copy it
  7. Paste it in your "SceneObj" File in your Calradia Imperial Age 3.1 Module
  8. (Say yes to the Replace Prompt)
  9. Open up the game and try the siege again.
  10. If the siege is different but still broken then try "scn_castle_2_exterior" (but rename it to the one you are trying to fix, in this case you would rename "scn_castle_2_exterior" to "scn_castle_1_exterior") and so on until you find a wall that works.

"if "copy and paste" the scenes of the castles of the factions that are working, within the archives of the new factions, in theory they are already the same.
I'm just guessing, I don't know how to do that."

From my knowledge, every city and castle has a "siege scene" which is what the game uses when you are attacking or defending it. This is what breaks in mods like Calradia Imperial Age because modders try to make new scenes. Sometimes this makes for a beautiful siege scene but other times (and in this case) it creates buggy messes with pathfinding issues and un-ending sieges. I will make an article describing how to fix the sieges

is this mod still alive?
the last time i played, he was bored with floating castles, i really wanted to know how to make mods to be able to finish this one, it was the best mod from this historical period, now we have the "Victorian Era", but the "Calradia Imperial Age" no it would be a direct competitor, and he was well ahead, from what I played, the mod just needed to fix the battle maps of the new factions.

I know it's a lot more complex than what I'm saying, but it would be great if this mod came back to life.

I think that the mod "Calradia Imperial Age" is dead.
Victorian Era still has a long way to go, its only in pre-alpha.
Floating castles are annoying. I'm trying to fix those but in the meantime I put a "TOWNS AND CASTLES README" in the files so that you can try fixing it yourself. Its a bit easier.
Other fixes will be included in description

No. I do not model yet.
I noticed a wealth of uniforms that were with Sarranid troops so I decided to spread them out more evenly giving them new names and stats.
