The development of patch 2.02 v7.0.0 has been a rough ride from start to finish. The team of dedicated developers, testers, mappers and advisors have put their best into making v7.0.0 one of the best releases of 2.02 history. Let's dive into the details!
Balance
One of the primary goals of patch 2.02 is to fine-tune balance as best as possible. The development team has stuck to that goal, and has promised far more balanced game-play for version 7.0.0. Your feedback has been invaluable to us, as it has guided us in developing a more balanced patch.
Say goodbye to the nasty experience award and requirement system, match-ups such as Angmar vs Elves or overpowered Lumber Mills, and hello to newly improved spells such as Untamed Allegiance and Arrow Volley, a new unit tier upgrade system, a useful Gandalf, and so much more!
Bug-free Gameplay
Another major goal of 2.02 is to bust as many bugs as possible so as to allow players to enjoy smooth game-play. The development team has worked hard at this for v7.0.0. In fact, there have been more bugs busted in v7 than most other single version releases! Say goodbye to the nasty overpowered Attack Troll levelling bug, OoS gaming, and the Freezing Rain rain drop bug, and hello to smooth and enjoyable game-play!
Of course, with change comes the risk of error, and the dev team always appreciates feedback. Creativity and Passion:
A lot of creativity and passion has been put into the development of v7.0.0. Multiple changes and additions have been made to the patch to enhance the gameplay for both our online and offline player base. New Inn units, improved AI and new maps, as well as a plethora of new voice files, music, tooltips, just to name a few.
We are very proud of how far we've come, and we believe the wait was well worth it! Massive thanks to everyone involved, and especially the community for the patience! We know it's been a long wait. The past year and a half saw significant upheaval in the patch-making process. This version has received enormous attention, and we hope that you will see that too!

I was using patch 2.02 v6.0 smoothly. I installed v.7.0.0 patcher now. The game starts, everything is okay, i can even play my saved campaign games. But when i try to create a skirmish game it crashes. 'Rotw has stopped working.'
Hello,
If you use another mod, run it and delete your own create-a-hero characters, go to skirmish and select a vanilla map and faction.
"This is related to one of two things: first is Edain CaH. Go into Application Data (type in %appdata% in the Windows search bar) > My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files > Saves and move out or delete all files ending in the .cah suffix. If that wasn't it, go back into My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files and delete Skirmish.ini."

Make sure that you do not have other mods installed - they may conflict with RotWK 2.02. Alternatively, ensure your mods are properly disabled (I.e. no residual files are left enabled).

[URGENT] When I try to switch 2.02 v7.0.0. to 2.01, the following error message comes up:
Fail
Error: Could not switch file game.dat
because: Cannot move the file game.dat anywhere...
[UPDATE] Fixed it. All I had to do was run as admin.
I tried running as administrator and I still get this issue.. :(
It is probably caused by your virus scanner that removed a necessary file. Try to get it back. Otherwise try to reinstall the patch again with your virus scanner disabled and run it as admin.

Check the settings and see your version. The launcher works fine.

It's not possible. You either play rotwk or bfme2.
Hi there, i downloaded this and everything works just fine. I wanted to ask, because i read somewhere else that this game is limited to 30fps or sth like that, is it possible to remove that cap and play it at 60fps? Thank you very much.
You can only play with 30 fps on multiplayer. As for single player you can do it but you need to edit some data.

question here. just downlaoded it with some friends works proper until i play angmar. i cant play angmar properly and the units are invisble and most buildings arent visible either...

Hello everyone, I downloaded and installed the 2.02 v7.0.0 after installing the 2.01, all done in the corrected way but in game, once I run it, in the settings it appears that the version is the 2.01. How can I solve this problem? I would play with the 2.02 v7.0.0 version....

yes, of course and I will tell you more, the new launcher.exe runs the switcher and once I switch to 2.02,I dont have the launcher to run the game but only the launcher lotrbfme2ep1.exe that,when I run it, in game I have the 2.01

yes, but running lotrbfme2ep1.exe also as admin it shows ingame always 2.01. I think that the launcher for the last 2.02 version misses. As i said before I've the new launcher.exe to switch version but I don't have a launcher for the 2.02.....

Hello guys, im playing the 2.02 v7.0.0 and in almost every game (only played multplayer in lan) the game crash after some playing time. Someone having the same problem?
Does a message show up?
If you also have BFME2 version 1.09 installed, make sure you disable it in order to play 2.02. Use the 1.09 launcher to switch to patch 1.06. Having 1.09 enabled is known to cause crash issues or mismatches online.
Pretty sure it's not related to the patch 2.02. Everyone should download the game from gamereplays.org and not from forshire that have a version where after 3 minutes you lose.
