Rome Returns is an Age of empires 1 replica mod with AoC features, based on yty's abandoned project. Not just translated it back to English, fixed gamebreaking bugs, tooltips/missing text lines, hotkeys, tech tree, many graphics and icons, but also I added campaigns, working Ai and lot of AoC elements like Trade Cart and unique theme music for civs.

The graphics are everything done! All from Age of empires 1!!! It's a dream come true! It's a lot better to play!
Just a some suggestions:
the Ai it's ok ,just need to improve, the difficulty (some campaign maps are very easy, and others i'ts extremely difficult on the same level of difficulty)
Add Spearman to Tool age, and Pikeman to Bronze age (For some civs).
Add some more utility to Axeman.
Javelineer to Archery Range, Cavalry Lancer evolution of Scout and all in bronze age.
Add gates, Horse Javelin unit all in Iron age.
Add new graphics for Heavy horse archer, Heavy Catapult, Heleopolis, Juggernaut.
Add Germanic (Generic) Civilization.
The terrain can be as it is right now.
Put Snow on some campaings
Make a new snow pine forest tree.
Put animals from age of empires 2, and aligator can be placed on normal grounds.
Hannibal it's named wrong.

Review for V 1.3.1
A solid modification, although having some bugs (probably consequence of the engine limitations).
The pros:
-Aoe2 upgrades, like formations, the scenario features (triggers),walkable farms, multiple units queue, better pathfinding, among others.
-Aoe 2 userpatch incorporated
-Aoe 1 userpatch balance
-3 new units (caravan for land trade, and upgraded lines for slinger and camel)
The cons: AI it's working but it hadn't reach the Aoe 2 standards, no wall gates, villagers are somewhat bugged.
One of the most original data mods for AOC. This mod brings a new life for aoe 1. New balancing, more wood on trees, can buy and sell resources, 2 new civs, more balance stuff. I absolutely love this mod. The only reason I didn't play it more is because just a few players played it, but when I got the chance to play, it was a blast! A must play mod!
