The initial release of the Roman Invasion mod, version 0.7
This is a hoard mod implementing a Hellenic pagan Roman Empire invasion of Europe in 1066, triggerable within the game rules. From their initial landing in Italy and Sicily, the Romans will also get incremental claims on the ‘pretender’ successor empires of Byzantium and the HRE along with other ancestral Mediterranean territory. They will arrive with massive armies and WILL (barring extremely bad RNG) end up conquering most of Europe. You have to plan accordingly if you want to survive such an event, though shifting to Roman culture and religion might be the only way out.
Additionally, this mod requires Sunset Invasion and uses Ancient Religions as a base to flesh out Hellenic paganism a bit more. Hats off to Paradox and the Ancient Religions team for the foundation.
Current features include:
-Custom game rule governing invasion
-Four new loading screens
-Nine new songs for Roman culture
-Conquest related events with new art
Works in progress:
-Further events will be implemented as development continues
-More events and decisions for Roman culture
-Events and decisions for those attempting to resist the invasion
Areas of Concern:
-If you tag switch to the Romans you’ll find the claim event prompts don’t have any text in them yet. The Romans are intended to be AI driven, so those will be implemented later.
-I’ve coded in divine blood incest marriage into Hellenic paganism. This has absolutely no basis in reality and is purely because I like to play the Eugenics game. If this gets significant criticism then I’ll remove that aspect.
-If you start from an earlier start date, the event based expansion will be crippled. The lack of consistent empires and kingdoms means they tend to act like a more traditional hoard (like the Aztecs) and just sort of expand arbitrarily
EugenicS :D
it's just eugenics
