Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
And finally Marauders, which can also be upgraded with these same hover drives with the same penalties and benefits as the Scorpion tank.

Well in this update they only showed what you can get for the GLA by picking up T1 salvage not T2 so that could still be a possibility

Eeeeh. I see your point, but there's large swathes of my brain stuck in a straitjacket, screaming over this. Partially because it sounds too much like Shockwave, and honestly...well, if I want SW, I go play SW.
Sure, USA tech, yay!™ but giving that to a Marauder is...oh, well, I don't even know. I guess you didn't have any other vehicle to apply it to, and you seem to be going for mutually exclusive upgrades and a 'rule of two', but I just can't see the GLA version of 'heavy armour' hovering.
Sure, it probably has a far greater power ratio than most other factions, and it's a logical feature, but I'd still almost rather see something else.
Though, even I can't think of anything. 'Popping floaties' is too Russian, Point. Def. Laser too advanced...maybe a 'ghetto' point defence sawn-off shotgun? XD
Yeh, I couldn't think of anything even if there was time to still change it anyhow. Though, I feel it's worth a mention, survivability was always more of a US shtick than the one-mobility-trick pony hovertank ever was. And GLA already has mobility in spades, if you were to nick your opponent's ideas...well, I wouldn't go with "Even faster tanks!"

nooo i think this is kind of uh and i'm gonna get shot for this but i think its a bad move to upgrade the tanks with hover abilities :( its too futuristic now too similar to shockwave wish they didn't rush this

ow and the US crusader animations all of them are amazing but the scorpion tank and marauder tank look derpy as hell with the hover upgrade maybe if they got a laser turret to shoot missiles down like the paladin or something like a machine gun vs infantry

through obtaining tier 1 salvage from the USA drops im only saying it because you know how you said that some of the scorpion and marauders health is decreasing due to the salvage pick up i think its just dangerous removing health as a punishment after all i was thinking the salvage crates were rewarding in a way its hard ish as it is to obtain salvage crates when playing multiplayer
However im gona try and agree, i know my opinion will mean nothing its just that i want to know what others think as well to this. Dont get me wrong this idea is brilliant hover drives nice btw, but i think it should just be a unique unit ability for the USA maybe im wrong. i just think it would be better if the tanks were not punished in the health deduction for upgrading just makes the iconic scorpion tank and marauders look like cannon fodder :P
The Marauder doesn't need a machine gun. Once it has Toxin Shells, it already does terrible things to infantry. You shouldn't look at this from a realism or 'OMG, GLA has hover tech' angle, but from a gameplay perspective: Having faster and amphibious Scorpions and Marauders is exciting because it gives you even more mobility and ways to surprise your opponent, whereas simply sticking a PDL or a machine gun on these wouldn't really do anything to make them feel different and thus rewarding to obtain the salvage crate.
what about better cannons i know in the original GENERALS and ZERO HOUR marauder had to pick up 2 to max its upgrades (better single cannon then double cannon) and then enter veterancy elite and heroic stages, i think maybe it should either have triple cannons as ive seen it in zero hour during cinematics but not generals or modify the double canons to have the ability two shoot longer ranges (it does have quiet a short range for a tank destroyer class)
Simply adding more damage to it is the purpose of the -regular- salvage crates that you can still pick up. The point of the Recycler is to -modify- you units with enemy technology in order to change their utility, not simply add another '+1' to their generic stats. The purpose of the Recycler mechanic is to make the GLA a more unconventional and unpredictable opponent and being surprised by fast amphibious Marauders fits perfectly with that idea, whereas tacking on a third gun would not. The Marauder is already better in 1.85 by virtue of having a rotating turret now.
Yeah I agree with the rotating turret you definitely improved the (ehem(clears throat)) EA version of the marauder and by far better now which i have no idea why they left that out.
Well i guess i ill give the hover salvage a try but would it at least be possible to make them look as less ridiculous as possible plz the GLA are a feared faction are they not :)
at least some better animations like the crusaders ability to "transform"
Dont take me in a wrong way guys, i just want to provide constructive criticism, well less criticism more eh constructive feedback because both the Scorpion tank and the marauder tank are an iconic Symbol to the GLA faction and it might throw some people of playing the GLA as much or as often (maybe not) not to mention coding and animating is one hell of a skill because some things are difficult i know. i think this Mod is by far one of the best out there alongside with the SW mod, i know you guys have plans

New headcanon: GLA hover vehicles are hovering not because their hover drives work, but because the driver believes they work.

Next update they will steal red paint from the russians.
I know that the triple cannons might be stupid but better range is a great upgrade as well and for scorpions maybe tougher armor instead of drives maybe by a small percentage

I really don't like the idea of GLA tanks getting hover abilities. Everything else is awesome, but I strongly wish they would change the hover upgrade to something else. :(
