Two down, three to go... Almost there. Stay on target!

Okay weird one: this kinda reminds me of a building in "De Blob".... Yes that video game where you're a slime that paints towns.

Nintendo makes some weird **** sometimes...

This is actually a "rebelized" version of the vanilla comms array.

Always love the classic smooth - but functional - lines of EAW Rebel buildings. Like the rounded look of an early M4 Sherman or a T-34, contrasted against the sharp lines of German - and Imperial - hardware. Great job as usual.

Im fairly certain that was the design philosophy behind star wars actually. The Imperial tech was very spartan...function over form. Militaristic, imposing, hard. Rebel tech was softer, flowing, organic. Very much like German vs Allies.

i've read somewhere that the empire was shaped after nazi germany ... so it is quite possible.

Nice, "simple" retexturing. Gotta ask, will the comms-array have any functional purpose besides being a rad looking base hit point?

Well in the base game it was what made the mini map work. Without it, no mini map... It will keep that functionality but will also be where you research bombing runs and orbital bombardments, rather than the command center (skirmish only).

Wait. It made the mini map work? I've been playing this game for 9 years. I do not remember that at all. Learn something new, everyday

In skirmish, at least, although the game files seem to indicate it was supposed to work this way in GC land battles as well, something they decided to cut out, probably because it would give too much of an advantage to the defender.

Interesting. But if you think about it, the defender already has a unit limit of 10, while the attacker could bring in as many reinforcements as he had in his fleet. Seems like the lack of a mini-map might've evened the odds a bit. I know I always felt outgunned during land defense battles.

I'm fairly certain the mini map works different in GC than in Skirmish. I'd have to look into that to know if that feature can be turned on in both modes.
