You wanted a Howitzer in this day and age? That's UEF.

the original cannon was half of that, but most you wanted longer cannon, so there you go...longer cannon

If it was a gauss cannon, it would tear the air is passes through and penetrate every target in a line. No explosion, but lots of death per second.

In before "FIDO!!"

This is a excellent model and texture.

(buried)

needs more red. love the black. give it a few light grey parts here and there. looks awful chewed up tho too.

i love the idea of a cybran t3 animalistic artillery unit but a dog type scheme doesnt really fit artillery. looking at this, i see a close range high damage high speed low health shotgun type unit that is vulnerable when still due to its low health.

if your sticking with the artillery type, make the connection to the gun...fatter.

if your willing to change the body type, try a triceratops carrying two big cannons on the sides.

Yeah, you're right, nobody uses dogs for artillery. I, too, would stick with the traditional, proven, triceratops concept...

Seriously? Let it be. This design is great.

Honestly, I'm not a fan. Its cool to have unique units, like dragons and spiders, but having millions of them makes it too silly.

Agreed, but not this unit - this is simple, elegant with just enough cybran, and its a homage to Total Annihilation to boot. But yeah there does seem to be an overabundance of animals/dragons/insects in this mod - its odd because in Sup-Com 1 and FA the anmial/insect motif was minimal and subtle-ish (sometimes), and they always had key features of said creature - a caricature almost, as opposed to a oil-paint portrait.

Well it's a new era.

And Dr.Avitus brought in new blood into the old Cybran Designs.......Mechs!

Animals seem to move and run rather well without the need for petroleum.

Designs flowing from nature gain their advantages.

Well I can ensure you guys that in industrial design, we get many of our inspirations from animals...
It's 21st century and we are still copying their characteristics..

If I can make a suggestion, just try to bulk up the model a little. I like the model, but I also think it might look better if it seemed sturdier.

well when it gets veteran it gets a really lot more bulky, BUT remember it is an artillery piece... it has to look somewhat fragile you know ;)

The idea is great! But i personally dont like the dog design. Maybe a scorpion which fire from his sting or a big turtle which can activate a big gun out of his shell.

Anyway good job! :)

Seriously, this model is awesome and I have nothing else to say.

the dog should sit down or lay down when shooting the cannon, or maybe there's something else to hold that recoil. nice model anyway!

I am agree with Driblex though...

the military has actually been developing plasma weaponry since 1982. check out the shiva star and marauder projects.

So "Fido" will be a fast low armored high damage attack unit right??? So why arty like? i think it would be better, to make a high damage sniper unit. A anti xp sniper. ;)

it is NOT "Fido" it looks like it, but it is not! I haven't played TA in my entire life, and I didn't knew that unit.... It pleases me that you find resemblance to an iconic unit from a loved game of yours, but IT IS NOT A CONTINUATION OF FIDO...

Reply Good karma+1 vote

Igncom1 - - 654 comments

Well both are artillery walkers to an extent, but the FIDO was more of the assault variety.

What ability's will the Hound posses? Jump-Jets? Mega-Armor?

Since it looks as the most mobile of them all, it will be able to move and fire at the same time, as opposed to UEF and Aeon counterparts that they have to stop and/or deploy....

I doubt it will have jump-jets...

So if you didnĀ“t play TA you have missed something ;) Ok let us call him "Hound" and... there is no reason to go mad because about a stupit unit name ;)

Sorry, but that unit doesn't have the quality of the other designs and textures. : (
It looks ok, but doesn't fit in the mod imo.

the design is purposely left clean and with straight and simple lines, to resemble it's predatory sleek design... We could go on with the details but that is not the case with this unit....

As for the textures, they are not final...
