Today we have a new release of our Twilight Parallax Mod. During the last weeks we worked on the shaders and optimized them with a lot more functions. And finllay we add the support of ATI Cards to te shader. We also implented the support of the parallax shader on model textures, so now we can add the effect of the shader on our models.
Here the complete list of changes in version 0.8
- added Parallax Support for Model materials
- added Parallax Map for Model Test
- shader code improved
- added support (shader 2.0b) for ATI Cards
- added some new Textures
- added some new console commands

Are the parallax shaders open-source, so other mods can also make use of it?
yeah, it'd be pretty cool if you guys let other mods use them :)
I wish you could walk around in the rooms. Then people could inpect the coolness of parallax mapping!
you can... use the arrow keys or change them in the options menu.
they used some one else's code, it is available at a forums
Garfield is on of our 8free) coders and hel us developing it for the first version. now we improved together with him this shader code to get a new features. so we don´t steal it ^^
So this is a modefied version of Garfields shader, interesting. Is he still updating the open source one?
I remember seeing a topic somewhere on HL2world? If anybody would be so friendly to link me to it ;)
The Shader is not open Source. You can download and use it but you can´t modify the code.
You can also use or shader model, but you can here change some settings by editing the vmt Files.
So feel free to use it but don´t forget to give a credit!!!
So I'm guessing you'll need this for the mod?
