Renegade X is a mod dedicated to recreating C&C Renegade in the new generation engine, the Unreal Engine 3. We all believe the Command and Conquer series is a very special one, and its fans have been following its games for over a decade now. C&C has been one of the most successful videogame series in the RTS Genre. Our modding team believes that C&C Renegade is truly a hidden gem in the FPS genre. C&C Renegade's specialty was its multiplayer mode, because it was not mindless killing like most games. A player was thrown into a battle as soon as he joined a server, in which teamplay was the only way to win. The game revolves around a war between the Global Defense Initiative, and the Brotherhood of Nod. Each faction would have their own base of operations consisting of buildings. A team had to work together to destroy the enemy base, while keeping theirs intact. Obelisk/Advanced Guard Tower (Base defenses) Without these, your team has no automatic defense. Hand of Nod/ Barracks...
Explosion before missile impacts land
That's how all nuclear missiles work. It maximizes blast radius if the missile detonates a few hundred feet in the air.
EDIT: Oh wait, should've watched the video before I commented - yeah, the missile is still moving while the explosion goes off. But that can be easily fixed. Great job, guys!
Very awesome! However, I do have to agree that there is a small bug in the timing that needs to be addressed! The explosion occurred a bit too soon because the missile was far too high off the ground and too far away from the explosion to be a above ground detonation.

Looks amazing! Though it does have the bug mentioned above. The missile set to detonate in the air but the effect made like a compleat ground impact detonation. I suggest a bigger momentary~ detonation flash and will look more awesome ^^

It's a tactical nuke, designed just to destroy one structure. If it were any bigger it would be overpowered.

I thought it sounded a bit like the one in C&C Generals... mostly the after effect sounds. Of course, some sounds and textures from the original C&C Renegade were actually recycled into C&C Generals... little known fact. ;)
i love this but i think that there needs to be more air/wind rushing away from the explosion and it would be great if you could get the wind force to move the trees and other things around a bit.
That is a very weak nuke it looked more like a simple rocket explosion, see the nuke explosion of Crysis for a great example of a nuclear explosion simulation.
It's not meant to be a very powerful nuke. It's a tactical nuke, designed only to destroy one structure. It's actually very big ingame, if it were anything like the Crysis nuke, it'd be way too big for this mod.
Needs the blinding flash upon detonation.
In the beta the nuke almost kills my computer
still an awesome explosion anyways, just wish it wasnt so processor heavy
