A fan for Real life Military equipment ? then this is your mod ! it is a Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge mod that basically imports a lot of RL military hardware from the cold war era in the 60's to the late 2000's while maintaining a lot RA2 aspects like prism, tesla tech and etc. Also, It expands on the original RA2 armor system thanks to ARES in which it creates more roles to create numerous units effectively expanding the complexity of handling an army making it necessary to use mixed arms to counter the various unit types. Also, do note that each country will have some twists in their military equipment that will be more or less similar to their respective RL counterparts. In short: it is a relative to reality fun mod but "a fun mod" is conservative statement.

Post feature Report RSS Veterancy System - Part 4

A unit example that is related to both bloc's veterancy system and it's emphasis

Posted by on

Now, a unit example of the veterancy system intended to be the in mod's beta phase. Main battle tanks from both bloc's are used as an example just as shown:

Patton 1Borov 1

Patton Image 1borov Image 1

Inherit stats of both tanks as shown in the tables below:

Patton 2Borov 2

At rank 1 both tanks would receive their own bonuses depending on their focus. Again for the eastern bloc it is an offensive focus and for the western bloc it is a defensive focus as shown in the tables:

Patton 3Borov 3

At rank 2 you can see a change of the image of both tanks and pervious bonuses are compound further depending on the emphasis. For the allies the strength is compounded (656 x 1.25 [veterancy bonus of 25%]) for the soviets firepower is compounded (144 x 1.25 [veterancy bonus of 25%]) as shown in the tables below:

Patton 4 1Borov 4

Patton Image 2borov Image 2

At rank 3 the emphasis factor kicks in. For allies strength is compounded by 3 times to which 820 x 1.25 (rank bonus) giving the total of 1025 hit points. For the soviets firepower is compounded by 3 times to which 180 x 1.25 (rank bonus) giving the total of 225 damage points. So both have an edge of 1 extra compound with respect to their focus. Also, other bonuses like speed and sight are also compounded but by 2 times in total of the full upgradation or ranking process of the tanks:

Patton 5Borov 5

At rank 4, both blocs reverse (allies at rank 4 will choose firepower and soviets will choose strength) and fill the gap that they had neglected out of favor over the other but with one less compound with respect to their focus (allies is strength and soviet is firepower). Also the image of both tanks changes for one finale times as shown:

Patton 6 1Borov 6

Patton Image 3borov Image 3

At rank 5 both tanks receive specials abilities that further improves their survival on the battlefield, though I would like to note that it might be altered in the future to differentiate them from each other:

Patton 7Borov 7

At rank 6 which is the final rank statues of both tank. The neglected bonus parts that were applied are compounded one last time reaching 2 compounds in the total upgradation process of both tanks. Also, the rate of fire and range is compounded again, though I might adjust the range and rate of fire and not allow them to be compounded but still give a slight advantage to the vehicles:

Patton 8Borov 8

Now before we wrap thing up, here is a table comparing the final end result of bonuses per tank with respect to their bloc general focus or emphasis.

For the allies, because they put an emphasis on defensive measures that means strength is compounded by 3 times and firepower by 2 to which at the end of the upgradation process the strength is increased by 194% (almost 2 times the tanks original inherit strength) and fire power is increased by 157% ( which is about 1.6 times its original inherit firepower/primary weapon damage).

For the soviets, because they put an emphasis on offensive measures that means firepower is compounded by 3 times and strength by 2 to which at the end of the upgradation process the firepower is increased by 195% (almost 2 times the tanks original inherit firepower/primary weapon damage) and strength is increased by 156% (which is about 1.6 times its original inherit strength).

Lastly, I added a difference between both vehicles when compared against each other in the area they had lesser emphasis on. For the firepower of the T-62, it has an edge of 36% over the M60A1's main armament. For the M60A1, it has an edge of 44% over the T-62 when it comes to armor. Both edges is fully realized when the upgradation or ranking process is finalized.

Patton vs Borov

Finally, both tanks require to kill as much as 18 times their original values to reach their finale ranks respectively.

Right, that a wrap folks. Later, I will be retrieving an old article that was gone. So, see you in part 5..
