Tournament Rules Thread - Red Alert: Unplugged mod for OpenRA

Game rules

Matches can be played on either private or public servers in the game lobby. The options in the game lobby are set to:

• Explored Map: On
• Short Game: On
• Fog of War: On
• Crates: Off
• Starting Cash: $5000
• Tech Level: Unrestricted
• Starting Units: MCV Only
• Game Speed: Normal

Additionally, player spots are set to random and with no team selection. The latter is to aid game observers switch view per player in-game using the '0' hotkey.

Factions picking

Found within its name the Showcase Tournament wish to expose the variety of factions within the event.

• The 1st set within a Best-of-5 (or Best-of-7 in the Final) is played with 'Random'
• In 2nd and 3rd set the loser of the previous set picks either 'Random Allies' or 'Random Soviet' with the opponent picking the opposite faction.
• In 4th and 5th (and 6th, 7th in the Finals) the players picks any faction/country of their choosing.

The map pool consist of 9 maps that are randomly generated for each set within each match-up. A map cannot be played twice within a match-up.

• The Great Divide
• Trapped

Replay files

The replay files are obtained automatically with an observer tournament agent, however if tournament officials are not present for the match-up the replay files are to be sent manually to the tournament host or dropped in #replay-drops on Discord. Replays are the source of the events post-production casting and function as the documentation of the event.
